Cisco 7910 Handsets: Skinny protocol?
Dear all.
I have about 30 Cisco 7910 handsets, and my basic research has told me that
they are not SIP based handsets. Not to worry for now, I just need them to
connect to my asterisk server. They are giving me a bit of a hard time. Has
anyone here had any experience on how to do this? Documentation on the
internet is seriously lacking.
Best regards,
Mr Gabriel Ogunleye

Asterisk Now Beta 6 and CISCO IP 7910
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I have just installed
Asterisk Now, and it seems to be up and running with no issues on my system.
The problem I am facing, is that I cannot find anywhere in the web
interface, to assign phones. I have a CISCO IP phone 7910 series, and I wish
for this to connect to the asterisk box. What's the best way of going about
this?

[LLVMdev] sqlite3 crashing jit
Hello,
I'm trying to compile sqlite3 using llvm-gcc, then run it with lli. I've attached a Makefile and a main.c that simply invokes sqlite3_initialize(). You'll need to download sqlite3 (it was too big to attach) and copy main.c and the Makefile into the directory where sqlite3.c is [Link: sqlite-amalgamation-3_7_0_1.zip <http://www.sqlite.org/sqlite-amalgamation-3_7_0_1.zip>

[LLVMdev] sqlite3 crashing jit
I'm trying to get a stacktrace, so I can't provide one.
I'm trying llvm 2.7 right now. I'm hoping there's a 2.6 workaround, though.

Call agent when queue is empty and there is a voicemail left
Hello list,
situation :
1. incoming calls come into a queue
2. there is 1 agent logged in into the queue (not always the same agent)
3. when the caller is in the queue, he has the option to quit the queue
and leave a voicemail message
what I want :
when there are no more callers in the queue with who the agent has to be
connected, Asterisk needs to call the agent and connect him with his

[LLVMdev] sqlite3 crashing jit
Running lli under gdb gives
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Was sqlite3 part of the llvm-2.6 test suite? If so, it is likely there's a workaround for 2.6.

How to determine which party hangup the call? cause of Hang-up needed.
Hi Everyone
Asterisk 1.4.33 is running with Sangoma/Dahdi for analogue lines to Bell
Canada.
User claims that call hangup without any interferance to the phone set.
Is there ANYWAY to find out which party hang-up the call or if the call was
cut-off due to other reasons?
I checked the *"asteriskcdrb"* table and it's pretty much useless in this
case as it only logs the duration and

Existing windows server to XEN howto?
I would like to move an existing W2K3 install onto my new super duper
xen box -- Installing linux based machine is no issue, it''s the windows
ones that keep getting me. I have Acronis which we usually use for bare
metal restores, and it seems that bare metal restores don''t want to work
too well with XEN, any assistance/help/ideas ?

RE: Setting up a Xen instance - SOLVED
I decided to simplify every that I was doing. I noticed that I had begun
to overthink things, and I decided that KISS, is still the best way to
go.
This has turned out to be something like this;
***
File xenmaster.testdomain.com.pp
node xenmaster.testdomain.com {
include xen
}
Where xen has been defined as a class in
File testdomain.classes.pp
class xen {
package { xen: ensure =>

Mountain ahead of me!
Dear All,
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have been presented with a massive task. I'm not an asterisk expert, but I do know my way around a linux server and infrastructure, and I know when things are not done correctly. A large number of minutes are routed every month, (1m+) and I wish to do this in the most efficient way possible.
I've been presented with three linux

VoIP Farm
Dear All,
Thank you for your comments and suggestions about my term 'VoIP Farm'.
It was done in jest, and I'm glad to see how the community reacted, with
off list emails with some with advice, some with warnings, some with
funny comments, and some sending me a promise of $30 for usage of the
word for three years! To lay it to rest, I know I can't trademark VoIP
Farm, but thanks

Best Practice Advice?
Dear All,
I have a asterisk setup that is currently running on version 1.4.15 - I
wish to upgrade or migrate this instance to the current asterisk stable,
1.6.0.6. It is my intention to build a FC8 box, then install asterisk
from source, and begin to migrate over the configuration. The thing is,
this sounds so simple in my head, and I've had enough issues with
asterisk, to know that life

Cacti Installation on CentOS 5
Dear All,
I am attempting to install cacti on CentOS 5.3 64 bit, and I checked the
wiki, only to find that the instructions are a bit out of date. Have
these instructions been updated somewhere, or does anyone have updated
instructions, maybe with known gotchas etc?

Kind Regards,
Mr Gabriel

CentOS 5.4? anyone? - "debate"
Dear All,
If someone asks a question such as "When is Centos 5.4 coming out" bare
in mind that it may be because they genuinely want to know when it's
coming out, and feel that somehow, they have not been privy to that
information. To me, I see CentOS as a polished professional product
given what it is, a repackaging of RHEL, and to that end I have the
expectation of a fully

Cloned Centos Boxes - First Run to run again?
I need to build a bank of 12 centos boxes, for an experiment I'm doing.
I don't want to install centos 12 times, I'm using virtual box across
three machines, how can I get the first run scripts to run again to that
the box is reconfigured on it's next boot.
I want each box to appear like a fresh unique install.

Dual Gateways, Dual IPs on the same net
If I configure a second virtual ip address on a device, will it always
send packets to the gateway configured, or to it's primary gateway.
For example, two ISPs configured, two firewalls configured, gateway IP's
192.168.1.1 and .2. Internal server has IP 192.168.1.100 with gateway
.1. Incoming packets that have been forwarded from outside, (for
instance an SSH session), will be returned
