NIC bonding - missing eth0?
I have nic bonding (mode=802.3ad) setup on 2 servers, both running Centos 5.5 In the "Active Aggregator Info", on one reports 4 ports - which is correct - but the other only reports 3 ports. It's always eth0 that shows a different aggregator ID. Changing the cables around so it hits a different port on the switch makes no difference. The switch is correctly configured for the port

bogus bond0 device showing up in /proc/net/dev
I'm running into a situation where a bogus bonded interface named "bond0" is being created, in addition to the desired "bond2" interface. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone know why it's happening or what I do to get rid of it? I wanted to start my numbering scheme at 2 instead of 0, which I didn't think would be a problem. As you can see, I have no reference

Bond & Team: RX dropped packets
Hi all, we are testing CentOS 7 in order to migrate from Scientific Linux 6 / CentOS 6 and we are facing an issue with the network. Trying to configure network with teaming in activebackup mode or also with bonding in mode=1 (active backup as well) we see many RX dropped packets in the bond0 interface (around 10% of the total), 100% RX drops in the backup interface and 0% in the active interface.

lost packets - Bond
Guys, good afternoon I'm using in my bond interfaces as active backup, in theory, should assume an interface (or work) only when another interface is down. But I'm just lost packets on the interface that is not being used and is generating packet loss on bond. What can that be? Follow my settings bond [root at xxxxx ~]# ifconfig bond0 ; ifconfig eth0 ; ifconfig eth1 bond0

network driver corruption? Interface disappeared
Hello, I've got a very unusual network interface issue on centos5. I'm setting up a router box, with two network interface cards, the first gets it's information from a dhcp server, the second is statically configured. I have no idea what happened, but yesterday the internal interface eth1 stopped showing up. An ifconfig eth1 showed the interface not found, but an ifconfig -a

xen 3.4.3 on CentOS 5.5 dom0: multiple nic issue -- eth1 won''t restart
Hi Folks: I have a strange problem with multiple (2) NICs on a CentOS 5.5 dom0 setup running xen 3.4.3 and have been struggling to fix it for some time. I could not find anything by googling or searching through this list but that is probably because I couldn''t figure out the correct search terms. After I configure my bridges the command "system network restart" fails for eth1

Bond Issues
I have a machine I just deployed w/ tg3 interfaces, I have setup bonding on this same line of server (HP DL380 G4) a million times. I saw there were changes recently to how you configure a bond and have my setup configured according to: http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-7431 The HP switch has a LACP trunk defined on the two ports. Problem is, when rebooting, I need to issue a `service network

Shorewall dual NIC and asterisk
Hello, We are trying to set shorewall on a centos server hosting an asterisk server. We are experiencing troubles due to very complicated environment. Shorewall is running on the same box than asterisk with dual NIC, server also as several services running on it like ntp, https or dhcpd Two network : 10.200.229.0/255.255.255.0 and 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 Router1 : 10.200.229.1 IP phones

LAN team says I have 2 IP's w/1 MAC address, but I have 2 cables with 2 separate IP's. What gives?
I'm really, REALLY hoping someone can shed some light on this. I posted something similar about this but I got more confusing info from my LAN people. The hardware is a Soyo K-333 Dragon MB running SuSE 8.0 w/Apache2 & Samba. I have 2 NIC's, the onboard NIC and a D-Link 530TX+ card. I have two IP addresses, 155.16.78.54 & .55 on eth0 I get lots of collisions, errors, etc., and

6.x - find interface with link up
In earlier versions 'mii-tool' would iterate over interfaces and show which have link up. In 6.x it wants an interface as a parameter. What is the appropriate way to find which of some number of of interfaces are connected? Better yet, what is the least typing to get the mac addresses of those interfaces? -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell at gmail.com

VM nic not taking IP address
I have a DomU as a firewall (using the Dom0 kernel). I hid the three nics from Dom0 and assigned them to the firewall VM. The firewall VM sees the three nics no problem. Eth0 comes up and grabs an IP automatically from my DHCP server, however eth1 and eth2 are configured with static IPs but they do not come up with an IP: Here is my ''ifconfig'': [root@fw01 ~]# ifconfig eth0
