FFA (Fax For Asterisk) tif file (size) problem
Hello,
We succeed to send faxes using FFA, when the files are converted to tif
from PDF using gs, but it doesn't work with tif files we copy/upload
directly from our PCs.
We saw in the manual that the size is important, since we got the error
"FAX handle 0: failed to queue document 'filename.tif'", so we set it to
1680x2285, but it's still rejected.
Is there a way

gif, jpeg and png image files reader AND tcltk image
Hi all,
Roger Peng and Jason Turner's suggestion with ImageMagick seem to be the
simplest "dirty" way
to get the problem solved.
But I ran into yet another interesting but quite round-about way to solve
the problem (partially). Through tcltk package, one can read in the gif
image with

Problems printer PS 1.1 vs. 1.3/1.4
I just ran into a most interesting situation. I am running CentOS 5.2
(2.6.18-92.1.22.el5) x86_64 with all the latest updates.
I recently converted a TIF to a PDF using tiff2pdf, and then tried to
print the file. Now, this has worked for me many times in the past,
so I wasn't expecting any trouble at all.
Instead, my printer, a Brother 2140 laser printer, which has printed

point size in svg
Hello, All:
????? I'm unable to control the font size in plots to svg.? Consider
the following:
svg('cex-svg.svg')
cex. <- 5
plot(1:2, cex.axis=cex.)
text(1:2, 1:2, c('as', 'DF'),
????????? cex=cex.)
dev.off()
????? When I open this in Gimp 2.10.4, the font size is tiny.? I also
tried:
svg('cex-svg.svg', width=15, height=15, pointsize=24)
cex.

viewing fax tiffs?
Hello,
I have spandsp setup to accept incoming faxes and receiving tif files
via Email.
Using tiff2pdf, or tiff2ps -a2 or even tiffsplit, the last page of the
fax is cut off and the quality of the text looks "squished".
I "figure" it's a tiff parsing thing, as opposed to a problem with my
spandsp installation (heh).
Has anyone experienced the same thing, or can

pcl to pdf
Everyone,
I am currently using a vsifax program (pcltotiff) to convert pcl files
to tiff files on a SCO Unix box, and then I am using tiff2pdf on a
Centos 5.9 box to convert the file to a pdf.
There are other commands that deal with multiple page tiff's and pdf's
that are part of the process, but the above basic process has worked
very well. The only thing I would like to enhance is a

RxFAX - How to catch errors in the dialplan
Hello!
We use RxFAX, version 0.0.2-pre26 over ISDN and it mostly works
well. Occasionally we get .tiff files that are not convertible
with tiff2pdf. This may occur if the connection is interrupted,
I guess, but we also saw cases where the sender seems to
have got an OK but the .tiff is not readable anyway. Therefor I'd
like to check the return of the rxfax command a bit closer,
but there is

txfax/rxfax fun
Hi Gang,
I'm trying to make an application to upload a tiff via a web
interface, slap a cover page onto it, merge the two into a new tiff and send
it out via txfax. I'm able to get it out to a fax machine using this
sequence:
/usr/bin/tiff2pdf /tmp/faxout/1229978819_filea.tif -o
/tmp/faxout/1229978819_filea.pdf
/usr/bin/gs -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -q -sDEVICE=pdfwrite

Problems printing landscapes in AR
I have the L&G (AFAIK) Adobe Acrobat Reader, 9.1.0, on my 5.3 x86_64
machine, but it seems to be incapable of printing some landscape-mode
PDFs. I created them by printing some wide graphics (PNG) files to
PDF files from the image viewer, and that didn't work - AR prints them
ONLY in portrait mode, no matter how the portrait-landscape is set,
and no matter how it is displayed. Then I
