Hi , guys: Today , I work on my laptop which uses the CentOS x86_64 operating system , Suddenly the X-windows restarts when left at the login screen for more than a few seconds. Hello, everybody. As mentioned in subjetc line, I have'nt succeeded to input Japanese using SCIM into apps running over wine, more especifically MS Word. I tried it with Notepad, and it equally failed. I tried to use NJStar as 'alternative IME' to those Windows apps, but it failed as well... Out of wine layer, SCIM is running as usual. Hello Is it possible to input Chinese and Japanese input via SCIM? I've been trying to get Chinese and Japanese input (via SCIM) to work in WINE applications for a long time. But I have never succeeded Specifically I want to use Chinese and Japanese input in the application TreeDBNotes. I have tested the application with WINE at the applications page:

I just downloaded wine 1.1.15, compiled and installed it on my centos 5.2 PC. It's exciting to successfully migrate applications to linux. However, I found that SCIM sends strange codes as Chinese and Japanese characters to applications. I need both Chinese and Japanese input methods very much. Can anyone give me advice to correct this problem?

Necroposting solution: It turns out that this was a known bug relating to SCIM. Disabling SCIM before starting Wine fixes the issue, and now all of my apps recognize the keyboard correctly.
