USB problems on 8.0-STABLE
I am having problems with mouse, keyboard and APC UPS. When attempting to start apcupsd I get the following error: Jan 8 17:42:06 Ace apcupsd[1606]: apcupsd FATAL ERROR in generic-usb.c at line 636 Cannot find UPS device -- For a link to detailed USB trouble shooting information, please see <http://www.apcupsd.com/support.html>. apcupsd, APC UPSs, and batteries, resolved
Well, here's the tale: we got a "replacement kit" for some APC SmartUPS 3000 - rackmount UPSs. The "kit", costing about half of what APC is asking, is just the batteries, and you pull the tray out, open it up, and swap out the batteries. Except, I did this on one... and the replace battery light never went out. Not using apcupsd's apctest, not pushing the button. The

Back to apcupsd
Ok, so another apc UPS 3000 complained about bad batteries, and I changed them out from the same order that I'd gotten in a couple of months ago. The APC SmartUPS 3000 started connecting and disconnecting the USB connection. I brought down and up the service, no joy. Finally, after googling, I found a *completely* undocumented way to start apcupsd, that a few years ago someone was told to

Changing self test date
Hello, does any one know how to change the date of the self tests on APC UPSes ? I'd like to be able to choose the day and the hour so that it happens at office hours, in case of any problem... I've tried to do this by launching a test at a convenient time, but the self tests still occurs at the previous date and hour :-( Regards. -- Frantz de Germain D?partement Informatique UFR

APC UPS: replacement battery always triggers shutdown
Arnaud, I was finally able to get back to this issue and would recommend adding these items to the FAQ #37 about recalibrating the UPS: 1a. It's important that the UPS be at 100% charge before starting the procedure; starting at lower will not work at all, not just produce inaccurate numbers. ? ? ? [I started the procedure when the UPS was at 91% charge. After that it would never report

NUT + OpenBSD + dc2500cc + APC Smart-UPS SC620 = problem
Hi, I am trying to set up NUT on a mini-ITX system running OpenBSD 5.5. I have an APC Smart-UPS SC620 which runs perfectly well on Ubuntu, with nut-2.2.1. Ubuntu system uses ASUS motherboard. On mini-ITX system, I have Intel d2500cc motherboard with 4 serial ports. I've tested ports by connecting them with a null-modem cable and running cu in 2 terminals. Type in one terminal, output shows

APC UPS: replacement battery always triggers shutdown
?I've been using nut on an APC Back-UPS 750 for several years with no problem, seeing the walled "UPS on battery power" messages during short 1-2 minute outages. This is connected with the original USB cable that came with the unit. After replacing the battery recently, nut always triggers a shutdown when AC power is cut off, even if only for 1 minute. I see that the data fields

Feature Request: APCUPSD Support
Hi, We use Nexenta which has recently implemented a UPS plugin using NUT code. The one problem is that it can't look at APCUPSD servers for APC information. We have a UPS per a rack and a APCUPSD server per a UPS. Without this functionality, we would have to be directly connected to the UPS's for our SAN and we can't do that. Do you have a workaround or something we can do
