OpenSSL
Hello anyone used OpenSSL before?
Why do we need to pay for expensive SSL certs when there is OpenSSL
which is provided free? Is there a difference?
I''ve got an ecommerce website, and wondering if OpenSSL is enough?
Your thoughts will be appreciated

Installing an SSL Cert
HI All,
I am considering buying this:
http://www.godaddy.com/Compare/gdcompare_ssl.aspx?isc=sslqgo003a
Since I have a domain that will be collecting data and processing payments.
Where can I find instructions on how to install the certificate?
Do I have to run another domain or sub domain for the store? Or can I just run the whole domain on https?
Thanks,
-Jason

Sparc?
My 12 year old wants to learn more about servers and has memorized a lot of commands like ls, chmod, du, etc.
He wants to have his own domain and server on the web and I have enough Static IP's, so why not foster this interest.
I have an old ultra sparc 5. Are there any CentOS versions that support Sparc?
Or recommendations? I know OpenBSD does, but I am more versed in Solaris and versions

Changing SSL certificates - switching from self-signed to RapidSSL
Hi all,
Ok, been wanting to do this for a while, and I after the Heartbleed
fiasco, the boss finally agreed to let me buy some real certs...
Until now, we've been using self-signed certs with the following dovecot
config:
ssl = required
ssl_cert = </etc/ssl/ourCerts/imap.pem
ssl_key = </etc/ssl/ourCerts/imap_key.pem
Now, I've created new keys/certs and the CSR, got the new

ssl certificate, maximum protection, on the budget?
Hello,
I've got a client who wants to go ssl. He's running a web server,
smtp/pop, and ftps and imaps is coming as well. I'm looking for a wildcard
ssl certificate i believe it's called but one on the budget plan. I am also
wanting to ensure that the mod_ssl with httpd on the server is only using
the strongest encryption methods and protocols.
Thanks.
Dave.

SSL with startssl.com certificates
I'm using Dovecot 2.2.5. I'm setting up and new IMAPS server for
personal use (i.e. only me).
I have success with self-signed certificates but not with others (e.g.
StartSSL.com)
With StartSSL certs:
I've been able to connect and test commands via: openssl s_client
-connect imaps.unixathome.org:993
Can you configure your iPhone or Macbook to access the above?

E-Mail Serving Options
Hi All,
What are my e-mail serving options? I need to host POP, IMAP and SMTP.
I must admit that non-windows e-mail hosting has always been a chore
for me. I remember QMail and QPopper IIRC.

localhost6.localdomain6
192.168.1.27 mail mail.meowbox.me meowbox.me
but `hostname -f` says:

SSL certificate and rails...
Newbie Q:
Building a webstore and need to have SLL-encryption on the checkout
pages...
I have no previous experience with SSL.
I understand that I need a SSL-certificate. I''m planning on purchasing
the cert from RapidSSL, but to do that I need to generate a CSR
(Certificate Signing Request). How do I do that?
How do I install the certificate on the server? Are there any guides on

Today, I would prefer Let?s Encrypt:
https://letsencrypt.org/
It is philosophically aligned with the open source software world, rather than act as bait

Proxy secured incoming POP3/IMAP4 to unsecure backend?
The port is determined with port=nnn setting. You can't return per-protocol port like that, you need to look at the protocol requested by user and return port based on that, or you can omit port to default into "standard port".
not using ssl/starttls is default.

CentOS 5.5 on a new Mac Mini? no CD Driver?
Hi All,
I am attempting to install CentOS 5.5 64 bit on my new Mac Mini. I boot to the CD and when I get to selecting where I am installing from (local cd, hard disk, ftp, etc) I select Local CD and it cannot find a driver and wants me to manually specify or use a driver disk.
I ave no idea what drive is in this system.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The certificate does not apply to the given host
The certificate is not signed by any trusted certificate authority

Dedicated Firewall/Router
Hi All,
I want to build a dedicated firewall/router as I am launching a NPO and I can host this in my garage. (Comcast offered me a 100 x 20 circuit for $99/mo with 5 statics)
I used to run Untangle, but as of version 9, you are forced to use their build in protocol policies versus the firewalling I am used to (Deny All and then opening holes for specific IP's, etc).
There are so many

Dovecot login slow
Can't figure out why the login is slow. I telnet to port 143 on
localhost. I type:
0 login user password
Takes about 10 seconds and it lets me in. I'm using MYSQL and it's a
small indexed database on a fast server so it's not the mysql query
that's slowing it down. At least I don't think it is. But - kind of
stumped. Just wondering if there's something obvious
