[Bridge] [RFC] bridge kernel API change
Here is the proposed revision to the bridge utilities
interface to the kernel. The driving force is that the
existing interface can't easily be converted to 32/64 bit
compat. Right now, the bridge-utils (brctl) tries to handle
32bit command on 64 bit kernel, but the code is limited to sparc
and wrong.
Here is what I am thinking.

[Bridge] 1 system with 3 bridges
Hi all,
I have one bridge system (used for controlling bandwidth) connected to

Recover software raid 10 on CentOS 6.3
The setup is 4 1TB drives running RAID10. I was using the Gnome Disk
Utility to verify the integrity of the array (which is a 500MB mirrored md0
and the rest a R10 md1).
I believe one of the drives is bad but prior to the system going offline it
showed that 2 drives were detached from the array but healthy. A reboot
results in a panic complaining that not enough mirrors are available.
Is there a

Polycom Spectralink 8002 Configuration
I have a new Polycom Spectralink 8002 and am having trouble with the
configuration or the unit but I can't see what's wrong. The unit does
not seem to even attempt to register with the Asterisk proxy but I can
make calls to it. I have viewed the syslog from the device which it
will actually write to the asterisk server so I know it can be reached.
I have also run a sip debug and

hosted VMs, VLANs, and firewalld
I'm looking for some information regarding the interaction of KVM,
VLANs, firewalld, and the kernel's forwarding configuration. I would
appreciate input especially from anyone already running a similar
configuration in production. In short, I'm trying to figure out if
a current configuration is inadvertently opening up traffic across
network segments.

memory error?
I have just noticed this message in my kernel logs, reporting the possibility of an error with my memory. This would go a long way towards explaining the problems i''ve been having. This particular error is occuring when i''m not running xen so is obviously not something brought on by xen itself.
The strange thing is that the NMI error is always followed by the TLAN: eth0: Adaptor

Basic KVM networking question
A CentOS 6.3 box ("host") runs several KVM virtual machines, each of which
has two interfaces attached to the two bridges br1 and br2 (and each thus
has two IP's; one on 192.168.0.0/22 and one on 192.168.4.0/22);
net.ipv4.ip_forward on the host is 1. Simplified diagram:

network not accessible through bridged interface but traffic visible
I had a major HD failure and need to rebuild my host server and the virtual
servers that resided on it. I am moving from CentOS 5.6 to CentOS 6.3. I
am using the same configuration, as best as I can tell, that was working
only hours ago on 5.6 but does not work on 6.3. My guest server can see
network traffic on the bridged network device but I cannot seem to interact
with it. Iptables turned

hi-
i''ve been trying to setup an outgoing queue that prioritizes traffic
depending on whether it recognizes the MAC address the packet is
destined to -- and i''ve not been having any luck. i think my ebtables
rule is correct as the packet count when i do an --Lc is increasing in
an expected way, but when i look at the tc statistics, i don''t think

HELP: xenbr on vlan if --> tcp checksum error

I can start the bridge based on my normal physical eth0 which is working without any problems.
My clan without bridge is also working.

Getting two different guest in the same network
Dear list,
Being a libvirt noob, I have some trouble understanding.
It is about getting two different guest in the same network.

I've defined a network with libvirt. This is the source xml:

<uuid>9684f2c6-6fd0-491b-9cb5-80ee268b01ce</uuid>

Don't specify GATEWAY in interface files where it isn't used. This
should be set on eth0 only.

OK, so you don't have a bridge interface. If you want to

KVM bridge wonkiness in Fedora19
Greetings,
I'm attempting to get several virtual machines setup on a Fedora19
host system, with the traditional bridge network devices (br0, br1,
etc). I've done this many times before with older versions of Fedora
(16, 14, etc), and it just works. However, for reasons that I cannot
figure out, the bridge doesn't seem to be working in Fedora19. While

high "init" load on ubuntu domu with centos dom0
I have an odd problem. I am running an ubuntu 10.04 domu that I got from
stacklet on my centos 5.5/xen4.0.1 dom0. The problem is that even
sitting idle the domu has a 1.05 load with init taking up 99% of that. I
have searched around but have not found what is causing the issue. I
thought I remembered this being mentioned on the list before but could
not find it either.

[Bridge] Lost TCP packet
Hi,
i am testing two bridges by sending to it random packets using hping2.
First i create a random-length file, then i send it a lot of time on
the wire using this command:
for ($i=0; $i<50000; $i++) { hping2 -q -c 1 -d $data_len -E
random.file 10.0.0.10 }
My problem is that some packets are lost.
Here is my setup:
PC1 (10.0.0.1) ===== BR1 --------- BR2 ===== PC2 (10.0.0.10)

Centos 7 and Network/Bridges
Hi all,
I'm a little bit confused about networking in Centos 7: I've copied my
bridge setup from a Centos 6 for KVM networking to Centos 7. I changed
the interface name to the new schema and I had expect that it would
work.
But:
The Bridges didn't came up with the following log message:
"Error: Device 'br61' is waiting for slaves before proceeding with
activation"

Bridge network for virt-manager
Hello. I desire to get bridge network working using virt-manager.
Centos 7 and centos 7 guest.
>From researching I think I need to have a ifcfg-br0 file like this ?
cat ifcfg-br0
DEVICE=nm-bridge0
STP=no
TYPE=Bridge
BOOTPROTO=none
IPADDR=192.168.1.8
PREFIX=32
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
IPV6INIT=no
NAME=br0
ONBOOT=yes
DELAY=0
Is that for sure needed ? The use that nm-bridge0 as the network name?
