RPM/YUM on CentOS 5.4 issue - multiple versions of the same package installed
Hi all, We currently have an issue with multiple versions of a custom package being installed. The RPM contains a liquibase script (a Java-based DB change management tool) and a %post script to run liquibase. We are installing with scripts that run "yum update liquibase-script". If the %post script runs correctly, it returns 0 and the application gets installed correctly but, if

Anyone using Active Driectory auth with Centos 5.4.....?
Setting up a new backuppc for a small group of device and I am running centos 5.4 with winbind setup and working. Everything is working and I would like the users to authenicate using their AD creds and was wondering what folks are using to do that with apache 2.2 and centos 5.4. I know about mod_auth_pam but that seems pretty dead so I was just wondering what folks were using and whats the

Should '@" now be listed in tools:::.get_internal_S3_generics() ?
Thank you for such a quick reply, Gabriel, I am not too familiar with the package tools, so cannot speak too confidently, but below is how I see the issue currently. The issue is not for external packages to rely on unexported functions from tools::, rather the issue is that 'R CMD check ?as-cran' runs those functions from tools:: in order to check the validity of Rd files (from any

Am I the only one who thinks this tagging debate is getting out of hand?
I'm just a causual reader of the vorbis@xiph.org list and lately its been flooded with this tagging debate(and the what, 5 threads its spawned?). I think that it is getting way out of hand. I personally don't have anything against the proposal(though i'm not for it) but lately I've been getting double the number of messages I usually do and its really starting to tick me

Karolis, It seems likely, without having looked myself, that you could be correct about the issue, but it does seem worth noting that both of the functions you have mentioned are not exported, and thus not part of the API that extension packages are allowed to use and rely on. If retrieving the list of "internal S3 generics" is something package and user code is allowed to do, the real

Debate: Shall some of Microsoft R Open Code be ported to mainstream R?
User here: incorporating Intel's MKL, as MRO does, would be a very welcome addition. I was an MRO user before and it improved my experience with medium data immensely. They did, however, leave behind bugs here and there, especially related to development with Rcpp, so I switched back to vanilla R. So as long as I can read, OpenBlas, for Windows, might be a worth considering option: http://www.openblas.net But Intel MKL also seems to be free*: https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/free-mkl Thank you, Juan El 30/10/2017 6:45 p. m., "Avraham Adler" <avraham.adler at gmail.com> escribi?: > [Sent offlist accidentally] > > What concerns me first and foremost is

Streaming Council Debate on Software Patents via Cell Phone?
I'm looking for a solution to provide a live stream of the debate on Sofware Patents in Monday's EU Council of Ministers [1]. Here's what I've in mind: * Council --> mobile phone --> software answering machine --> Internet server * Council --> mobile phone --> VOIP --> Internet server Has anyone ever streamed something via a cell phone? How would you realize

R Square Help (this debate again, i know!)
Hello everyone, I have been using R to do some behavioural economic analysis for my masters thesis, specifically fitting demand curves using nls. E.g. Formula: y ~ c + b * x - a * exp(x) Parameters: Estimate Std. utils::isS3stdGeneric chokes on primitives and identity
Trace adds something to the body of the function, so it does make sense that it doesn't. Whether traced functions still technically meet the definition of standard s3 generic or not is, I suppose, up for debate, but I would say that they should, I think. As before, if desired I can work on a patch for this if desired, or someone on R-core can just take care of it if that is easier. Best, ~G

Asterisk, SER, NAT, STUN and the whole debate
Guys. Im reading a lot about ser, nat, stun, etc. And I noticed there are a lot of ways to get around nat but I would like to hear some success stories about handling nat users with multiple voip phones behind nat. I have my asterisk box behind but ports are forwarded (5060 5004 10000-20000 for rtp and 4569 for iax2) but still.. I can quite figure out what ser and stund have to do on this

A more concrete example in order to correct my vague messages below. Writing an R package that uses `@` and `@<-` as S3 generics. Line from manual pages in .Rd files: \method{@}{newclass}(object, name) <- value Throws this error during R CMD check ?as-cran Bad \usage lines found in documentation object ?code?: <unescaped bksl>method{@}{newclass}(object, name) <-

OT: R Square Help (this debate again, i know!) and The Experimental Unit
Dieter (et. al.) I am weak and therefore yield to temptation... This is OT for R, so stop reading and discard now if you're looking for real R Help. (see also one inline coment below) Mount soapbox; begin rant </ In addition to the points you made/alluded to, may I also suggest that confusion about the nature of The Experimental Unit results in a lot of garbage/non-replicable scientific

Existing windows server to XEN howto?
I would like to move an existing W2K3 install onto my new super duper xen box -- Installing linux based machine is no issue, it''s the windows ones that keep getting me. I have Acronis which we usually use for bare metal restores, and it seems that bare metal restores don''t want to work too well with XEN, any assistance/help/ideas ?

Debate: Shall some of Microsoft R Open Code be ported to mainstream R?
Dear R Developers, First of all, I would like to thank you Jeroen Ooms for taking the binary Window Builds from Duncan. I firmly believe that the R Community will benefit a lot from his work. However, the debate I would like to open is about if some of Microsoft R Open Code shall be ported from R Open to Mainstream R. There are some beneficts in R Open such as multithreaded performance:

Debate: Shall some of Microsoft R Open Code be ported to mainstream R?
[Sent offlist accidentally] What concerns me first and foremost is that the licensure would have to be ironclad (including for commercial use like vanilla R now) as well as ensuring that R remains completely FLOSS. Anything ?added? to R has to be a no-strings-attached gift to R. Also, I would think that it would have to play nice with existing workflows (like OpenBLAS instead of MKL) unless
