net ads join / kinit /.conf syntax
Hi. HELP! I read: :-) http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/domain-member.html#domain-member-server (Which notes, "This is a rough guide to setting up Samba-3 with Kerberos authentication against a Windows 200x KDC. A familiarity with Kerberos is assumed." Is there "A guide to familiarity with Kerberos as a primer for Samba configuration" somewhere?) :-) This thread

windows and type=paravirtualised
Hi! What benefits do I get if I put "type=paravirtualised" in my network card config for a Win2k8 domU with PV drivers installed? Is it necessary, will it improve performance? I have read about this option here: http://plone.lucidsolutions.co.nz/linux/xen/windows/windows-server-2008-r2-xen-hvm-installation-with-gpvpv-drivers Thanks, Daniel

1. Is it normal to see : # lsmod Module Size Used by dahdi_dummy 3236 0 Shouldn't it be used by asterisk or is this 0 value meaning something specific ? 2. How can you check dahdi is running ? Here, "ps aux | grep dahdi " replies "grep dahdi". Cheers ------=_Part_2692_19661943.1228286635399 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1

Embedded Question
A friend asked me to setup an embedded appliance with an RO root for minimal maintenance to primarily stream shoutcast out to an amp. The only thing I knew that might do this is iMedia Linux, but the project is practically dead with little to no activity. Is it possible to do something like this with CentOS? Doesn't seem to be much info on the /etc/sysconfig/readonly-root file. Anyone know

Dell servers, Barebones Kits, HP & Compaq servers, etc.) This is just for budgeting issues...he wants to get rid of some old and obsolete hardware we run and wants to know which hardware could be easy to deploy on the server side and

"attack" (manage) NT domain using the linux tools?
rpcclient sound cool. I am running 2.0.6 Samba. 'rpcclient' exists with it but a call to 'man rpcclient' gets no results. Could it be that the man pages are in a later release? I have a samba (version 3.0.14a-Debian) running an NT style domain and want to add a member file server implementing winbind. When I use "wbinfo -u" it returns a list of all my domain users. When I use "wbinfo -g" it returns 3 results: DOMAIN#power users, DOMAIN#administrators, DOMAIN##backup operators, but nothing else (There is a group "mob" on the PDC

Rip Blu-ray to Transformer Prime-Mac Blu-ray to Transformer
There are many people complaining that tablet PCs perform not so satisfactory when they are used to play videos.
