JOB | Sysadmin/Lead Platform Engineer (Singapore or London)
Hello, I'm working with an employer that is looking to hire someone to
be responsible for the modernisation of their on prem environment.
There will be lots of VMware and traditional sysadmin work; moving
into more of a Kubernetes/ Python/infra-as-code heavy role only once
the migration project is completed (say 12 months). Consequently I
had hoped that some members of this group may like to

Managing filesystem quotas
I wish to impose a quota on a samba share.
I''ve created a mount, using puppet, enabling usrquota. I''ve then run
quotacheck manually, and edquota manually to set up the quota.
I suppose I could have puppet deliver the aquota.user file, but I don''
think that doesn''t really enable me to rebuild the machine without
manual intervention. What would be really

Passenger Best Practice
I want to move from running puppet under it's own web brick server, to
using passenger.
I'd like to get an idea of how folk are running passenger? Ideally
I'd like to keep everything rpm based, so would need ruby enterprise
rpms, and then the mod_rails / passenger plugin?
How are you folk doing it?

Passenger Woes
Hello,
I really didn''t expect this to be difficult, but I''ve been struggling
with this all day :(
I''m running CentOS 5.3, with rubygems, rack and fastthread, from EPEL.
I''m running puppet-0.25.0-1 built from the spec file in the latest
stable tarball.
I''m using mod_passenger-2.2.5-2.el5 from Jeroen van Meeuwen (kanarip),
which is effectively EPEL

NDPS or JetDirect Printing RH 7.1 Wine 082002
Anyone manage to print to an NDPS printer. The Server

[asterisk-app-dev] True suppression of DTMF from audio
I am developing apps using ARI which need suppression of DTMF tones in the audio, and I have been told (back in December) that asterisk depends on SIP providers to suppress DTMF tones in the audio stream.
Having sorted out my ARI code to suppress DTMF as I wanted, it turns out that SIP providers are not very good at doing that suppression (leaving audible clicks, or failing to suppress the tones
