Creating a Fedora 11 DomU
Hi All, I just tried to create a DomU using the following method... (I normally use the Xen install kernel when I create CentOS domus, but when I tried that with the PXE image, that had the same effect as below). This is the first time I have created a Fedora domu in ages... years, even. virt-install \ --paravirt \ --name demo \ --ram 500 \

Xen 3.3.1 on CentOS 5.2 - networking problem with bond
Hi, I'm new to the list and new to Xen, so please be gentle with me! ;-) I've got a CentOS 5.2 x86_64 machine with two interfaces (eth0 and eth1 unsurprisingly) bonded into bond0 in mode 4, and a Cisco switch set up with LACP to suit. I didn't select Xen at install time as I wanted to install Xen 3.3.1 from the gitco repo. After installing and yum updating, I added the gitco repo

[Patch[ xl problems with xendomains
Hi, Ever since xl become the preferred toolstack, I have had problems using the xendomains startup/shutdown script. Having retested today, it seems that the issues are now reduced down to xendomains being unable to restart previously saved domains. Here is a typical session using xl running Xen 4.2.2 on Ubuntu 64 12.04 bit server, using stock Dom0 kernel (3.2.0-43-generic)

VNC access console of paravirtualised DomU
Hi, I''ve seen this asked a few times, but I just can''t work out whether I am misinterpreting how this is supposed to work, or if it is just broken in my setup. What I want is to be able to see the character cell console of DomU''s via VNC. As far as I understand, when I create/startup the DomU, then a vnc server should start listening on my Dom0. I have tried every

Xen 3.3.1 - no VM yet, X process using 100% of CPU
Hi, I''ve installed the RPM for Xen 3.3.1 from Gitco for Centos 5.2. I actually did try to compile it directly from source before that with success but as I were having an issue (which I now know is the same), I decided to use the work from somebody else hoping it was a problem specific to my compile. As a summary, I have a dual core Intel CPU with 3 GB of RAM and this kernel running:

DomU suspension/hibernation
Hey, I thought there was supposed to be an ability for domU''s to be put into a hibernated state (E.g. current running tasks and memory) when dom0 is shutdown or rebooted. When I look in my /etc/default/xendomains file, I have the variable''s "XENDOMAINS_SAVE=/var/lib/xen/save" and "XENDOMAINS_RESTORE=true". However, when I reboot, I always have to restart my

[PATCH] [Backport 4.2.x] Fix issue with 'xl list -l' showing domids as -1 when using SXP
During investigation of other issues, it came to light that in at least 4.2.2, "xl list -l" displays domain ids as -1 when using SXP, irrespective of actual value. Ian C identified that this issue was likely fixed in the upcoming 4.3 release but the commit responsible for the fix (a73a7a0c647a9a5e30d8bc473c0a1e8648817183) was not likely a candidate for backporting in its entirety.

xentop batch mode
Hi guys, First of all, sorry to send this one here on the centos ml. I know it's kind of off-topic, but the xen-users list seems a dead end, I was hoping some of you guys are experienced in this. I have a problem with a xen 3.4.2 on Centos 5 x86_64 installation, I need to see the total/used/available memory of dom0 when using xentop, however in batch mode it doesn't seem to work. If I use

CentOS 5.4 64bit default Xen install won''t start, garbled boot screen
Hi everyone Ok this is really strange. I''ve been messing around with Xen for the past few weeks on a 32bit test machine and CentOS 5.4 and it''s been working fine. Today I went into the office on a Sunday to install Xen on our server but I had a major problem. The server is a home-build with a Tyan s5211 motherboard with an Intel i3210w chipset CentOS 5.4 64bit installed and

problem about xen-3.3.1 on CentOS 5.2
strange problem!! I think the xen 3.3.1 has been installed successfully.(detail info appended below). when I use "xm create" command, it said"Started domain opensolaris0811". opensolaris0811 is my installed domain name. However, when I use "xm list" command, I cannot find the new build domain opensolaris0811. Only show domain-0 and win2k3 (which is a guest OS

Issue with the xen hypervisor crash
Hi, I am having some issues with xen hypervisor crashing because it could not find one of the cores in my processor. This is not consistent. It happens once in every two or three boots. Is this is xen bug or is it something related to BIOS. If it is a xen bug, has it been addressed and could you point me to the right patch. Here is the xen boot message. title CentOS (2.6.18-274.7.1.el5xen)

preparing for 4.2.3 and 4.1.6
Aiming at a release some time in August, I''d like to cut RC1-s by Thursday next week (as I''ll be on a two week vacation starting Friday). Please indicate any bug fixes that so far may have been missed in the backports already done. A few fixes are currently stuck in master''s staging branch (or pending to make it there) - these don''t need to be named explicitly,

Slow IDE on GeForce 8200 board
In my haste for help, I stupidly hit reply and changed the subject which I thought was enough for a new message, not giving much thought for the threading, etc. So apologies for the hijack, although I would think it fairly obvious that it wasn't deliberate or obvious to me... or a big deal really. My mail doesn't thread. Some further info for those actually interested in helping, I forgot

looking for kernel-xen- 2.6.18-164.el5
Hi all, does anyone know where I can download kernel-xen- 2.6.18-164.el5 for CentOS 5? I can't install it with yum, since yum has a much newer version already. I have searched google, but can't find a download link, only a lot of references to the kernel w.r.t problems. -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers SoftDux Website: http://www.SoftDux.com Technical Blog: http://Blog.SoftDux.com Office:

Domain0 with Kernel 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen fails to boot Guests with Kernel 2.6.18-164.el5xen
Hi all, I am in a bit of a fix here, I have several Guests paravirtualized running on a Dom0 that is currently running the 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5xen Kernel. All my guests (administered by different people) have subsequently been updated to later versions of the kernel (namely 2.6.18-164.el5xen or 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5xen). Ones that are still running are using the Kernel 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5xen while
