centos 6 boot and install on hp dl380 G4
Hello List, i downloaded centos6 x86_64. With DVD-iso1 i made a booteable usb-stick (universal usb installer 1.8.5.7). When i boot my HP ProLiant DL380 G4 from the stick, the CentOS boot screen comes up and and the message "Automatic boot in xx seconds..." appears. * When i do not hit any key, the seconds are counted to zero an then it starts again at 10 seconds - again and again. *

4GB on HP DL380 G4 on FC5 test1
Hi, We are running FC5 test1 on some HP DL380 G4 servers with the stock xen and xen kernels supplied in FC5 release. We have 2 servers, one has 6GB of RAM the other 4GB. Both machines crash (lock up) on boot, I would have hoped to see 4GB of RAM and functional Xen in either case. Last message I see is related to PCI devices, I can try to capture the exact point of crash if it''s

Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all. I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed. Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now? Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry it's a little bit long: [root at karsites ~]# yum --enablerepo '*' --disablerepo

HP ProLiant DL380 G5
I have CentOS 6.x installed on a "HP ProLiant DL380 G5" server. It has eight 750GB drives in a hardware RAID6 array. Its acting as a host for a number of OpenVZ containers. Seems like every time I reboot this server which is not very often it sits for hours running a disk check or something on boot. The server is located 200+ miles away so its not very convenient to look at. Is

pxelinux 5.01 chain.c32 hd0 not working on SmartArray P220i
Hello, I've been having a problem trying to boot from first hard drive via pxelinux 5.01 on a HP Proliant server having a SmartArray P220i RAID controller. On other hardware and VMs that i've tried it works. My config file looks like this: label localboot kernel chain.c32 append hd0 Is this a known issue or has anyone experienced this? Thanks, Andrei

TE410P card in an HP-Compaq DL380 G4 server
Hi, Has anyone had success using a TE410P card in an HP-Compaq DL380 G4 server? For me the card is detected fine, but the system just never sees an interrupt from the card. I've tried everything I can think of. The card definitely works. Its Fedora Core, but we also tried a stock 2.6.10 kernel. We tried with and without Hyperthreading, with "noapic", we disabled all the

Problem detecting HP Tape Drive
Hello I do have problem using Linux with an external HP tape drive. The server platform is also an HP Server; the server is an HP ML350 G4, and the Tape drive is a HP Storage Works Ultrium 448 - 1U Rack-mountable. HP Ultrium documentation says two drivers should be automatically up, sym53c8xx for LSI SCSI interface "st" for tape and /proc/scsi/scsi should contain information about

HP DL380 G2 does not boot off local disk from PXE boot menu
Hi, all: I can't make my HP DL380 G2 servers to boot off local disk by using "default local" line in my PXE boot menu. For fully automated server setups, I have configured all my DL380 servers to always do PXE boot. By manipulating the default boot option in boot menu, I can control a server whether to install a new OS via kickstart or just boot off local disk. This scheme works

TDM400P/FXS in a HP DL380 G5
The HP DL380 G5 (like many rack servers) has no AMP Mate-n-Lok connector available to attach to a card that needs more power than the PCI bus can provide, like the TDM400P when FXS modules are used. HP has confirmed that there is no part they sell to give you such a connector, and Digium says their business edition folks got it to work, but only by doing nasty warranty-voiding things to the

bad I/O performance with HP Smart Array RAID
Hi all, I discovered lately that two of my XEN servers suffer from a really bad disk throughput - in domU as well as in dom0. All of them run Debian/Etch, Kernel 2.6.18-6-xen (orig. Debian) with XEN 3.2 (backported). The software versions seem to be ok for most machines: Lenovo A57 with S-ATA and (E8200, VT enabled): up to 90MB/s Shuttle, FB61 based, ATA-Disk (Celeron, no VT): up to

ZFS Appliance as a general-purpose server question
A customer is looking to replace or augment their Sun Thumper with a ZFS appliance like 7320. However, the Thumper was used not only as a protocol storage server (home dirs, files, backups over NFS/CIFS/Rsync), but also as a general-purpose server with unpredictably-big-data programs running directly on it (such as corporate databases, Alfresco for intellectual document storage, etc.) in order to

Summary of hangind HP proliant
Quick summary of the Issue I posted a few weeks go about a HP DL380G3 server running RHAS21 that was hanging under heavy disk IO. Server is 2x2.8GB hyper threading Xeons, 6GB 400Mhz RAM. It has a built in SmartArray 5i card that was mirroring 2 disks for root, and raid5-ing 4 disk for /apps_data. A multi GB tar could make the box unresponsive for several seconds. Through put to both volumes

CCISS driver on HP DL380 G3 ?
Hi. I am trying to boot Xen 2.0.5 on an HP DL380 G3. It won''t. The box has an "HP Smart Array 5i" that when running normal Linux is handled by the CCISS driver. I suspect that this is what is not supported in the stock Xen kernel. Am I correct that I need to build a kernel from source ? According to http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2004-11/msg00709.html there

CentOS 5.x and HP ACU CLI
I had to install C5 on a dev server for various reasons (legacy system support and so forth). This dev server is a HP DL180 G6, with a SmartArray P410 raid card... I've installed hpacucli via the RPM from HP's site, but its not finding the controller... C5 (64 bit) is using the default CCISS drivers for this card. # hpacucli ctrl all show config Error: No controllers detected.

Problem compiling 2.6.32.x pv_ops kernel, centos 5.5 i386, HP DL380 G3
Good afternoon everyone, I''m trying to compile the xen 2.6.32.x pv_ops kernel on centos 5.5 with i386 quad core xeon system (HP DL380 G3). Having some issues during the kernel compile one of which related to intel agp so I just removed it from .config and didn''t come across it again. This error here has got me stumped though: drivers/built-in.o: In function
