Video Card
I want to be able to use a late-model video card with either Nvidia or
ATI (AMD) chips that have the capability to use the GPU for numeric
processing through the CUDA or AMD Stream SDKs.
I can't find any good source for hardware that really works under
Linux, not to speak of Centos. I need a specific model and brand that
a user has successfully been able to use the proprietary driver for

Centos 5.1
I'm about to try Centos 5 (first time user).
Question: I have the 5.0 CD-ROMs, so can I install with them and them
update to 5.1 via the internet, or should I use the 5.1 CDs?
Thanks.

Centos 5 - Install Hangup
I get to where the installation begins copying packages to the new
host and it's time to change CD's to the second one. I get the
following message:
An error occurred unmounting the CD...

I click and nothing changes.
I go to tty2 and see the #ssh prompt and see nothing interfering (and

Login Feature
I asked one of my team mates to evaluate centos 5.2 as a more stable
distro for our business use than Fedora which we have used for years.
His main objection so far has been the lack of a neat feature of
recent Fedoras (at least since 7) that allows a user to login as
himself if the screen is locked by another user (a switch user
feature).
Is that feature available or is it planned?
Thanks.

Rosewill RSV-S8 Storage Enclosure Support
I'm trying to get RSV-S8 working with Citrix XenServer 5 update 3 (which
I believe runs CentOS 5.something).
I have the Rosewill card that comes with it in there (sil3132 based).
It's seeing the card, and seeing all my drives.
I fdisk the drives and I can create the partitions, but I am unable to
set up either software raid or create filesystems. I keep getting
errors saying that

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello,
I notice a bug in syslinux 6.01 ( bios version ) when I install it in a
USB flash drive ( FAT32 partition ) and when I want to boot this USB
flash drive with a gigabyte motherboard ( GA-P31-DS3L ),
I setup my usb flash drive ( 4 Gb ) like this in windows XP :
syslinux.exe -m -a -i -d /boot/syslinux H:
then I create a syslinux.cfg menu and I add these files : chain.c32
libcom32.c32

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello,
I didn't try 6.02-pre15, I will do and I will post the results,
my keyboard is a PS/2 model, the "legacy USB storage option" is enabled,
I tried also an USB keyboard but there is no change, so it's not a
keyboard problem, it probably something in syslinux ( ldlinux.sys ? )
who create a serious bug with my motherboard,
I tried also with a USB HDD ( not a flash drive )

r8712u wireless driver
I've just installed centos 6.3 for the first time on a test machine and
couldn't be happier - except that a critical wireless adapter driver is
missing - the r8712u. I would love to convert my mythtv machine from
Fedora 17 to centos 6.3 to put all that chaos and instability behind me.
My mythtv machine connects only wirelessly to the rest of my network
and uses a Rosewill RNX-N180UBE USB

Configuration Question
How would I set up the following configuration? Two connections to the internet from different companies. Both connection use DHCP so eth0 and eth1 ipaddress will change. I would like to get an email if one of the connections goes down.
Web server and PC1 will use eth0 unless it is down.
PC2 will use eth1 unless it is down.
