mod_ssl?
I just noticed that the mod_ssl package was missing on a 5.x machine
that I thought was approximately like several other that have it - and
don't remember doing anything different. Is there some yum group that
would install httpd without including it?

[LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
Hi,
It would be nice if it were easier for relative
novices to build whole-program bitcodes for
large, complex applications with hairy build
systems. Several readers of this list have
been trying various approaches for a few months
but as far as I know we haven't yet found a
good general solution. Approaches that have
been tried include 1) placing wrappers for the
usual tools (gcc, ar, as,

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and CentOS 5 extras packages
Hi,
In the advent of RHEL5 and CentOS 5, I've been rebuilding the RPMforge
packages for EL5. You can find these at the usual location[*]. A few
points though:
+ Not all RPMforge packages are available at this time
+ If you find a package that you need and isn't there, please do look at
the buildlogs and send me instructions on how to fix this specific
build. (Saves us time

[LLVMdev] building whole-program bitcode with LLVM
Hi,
Professor Adve suggested that we post this question to llvm-dev.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
My colleagues and I want to create whole-program bitcode for large
real programs like Apache, BIND, OpenLDAP, etc. We want the
whole-program bitcode to include every part of the program for which
we have source code. For example, in the case of Apache's "httpd"
server, we want

[LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
Hi Terence,
I believe that this is in fact similar to an approach Coverity uses
(or used at one time) as a robust solution to determine what was done
during a build. I can imagine that one can build a robust system
following this technique, but it also seems like it might be quite a
bit of work.
Another possible alternative not mentioned is to teach the compiler
driver (clang, most likely) to

SVN missing libexpat.so.0 while it is present
Hello,
Hopefully I am sending this to the correct mailing list but it seemed
best suited for troubleshooting :-)
I am trying to fix Subversion which isn't working for me on one of our
machines: every attempt to run 'svn ls' or 'svn co' ends in:
svnserve: error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

apache 2.2.22 on CentOS 5...
Hi,
while the brand new apache 2.2.22 compiles fine on CentOS 6, it fails
on CentOS 5 unless you tell him to use its internal apr lib...I saw in the 2.2.22 release notes:
"This release includes the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) version 1.4.5 and APR Utility Library (APR-util) version 1.4.2, bundled with the tar and zip distributions. The APR libraries libapr and libaprutil (and on Win32,

[LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
Hi, Kelly, Have you found the solution for this problem? I met a similar
problem when I were trying to test MySQL 5.0 with LLVM. The following is my
step, but still failed since llvm-ld can not recognize some gcc link flags.
1. during the configuration, use a script such as llvm-gcc.sh, at this time
the script only invoke the gcc. This is necessary because the gnu configure

[LLVMdev] Instrumentation with liblto and gold
Hi John,
Thank you for your advice.
LIBS and LDFLAGS work for the configure script,
but they gave errors in the make stage for apache and mysql.
I used either of the following ones with other flags:
- export LIBS="-L/home/sangmin/Dropbox/Falcon/bin/ -ldummy"
- export LDFLAGS="-L/home/sangmin/Dropbox/Falcon/bin/ -ldummy"
Here are the error messages:

Upgrade borked wine...
I was running dreamweaver cs4 just fine in wine 1.1.9, I then upgraded to version 1.1.10 and it no longer ran. I tried to redo the steps that I took to install dreamweaver cs4 (I have the dreamweaver files on a portable harddrive, all I have to do is copy them over to the wine directories) in wine 1.1.9 in wine 1.1.10 but it still froze. I tried downgrading to 1.1.9 again and redoing the steps

[LLVMdev] Instrumentation with liblto and gold
Hi,
I need advice in instrumenting programs using liblto and gold plugin.
Specifically, I added my pass in tools/lto/LTOCodeGenerator.cpp.
My pass inserts functions (myLoad and myStore) for some load and store
instructions.
The functions exist in a library file.
I found that the approach works for the example in the link:

$ llvm-gcc -flto a.c -c -o a.o
$ ar q
