Limma - 2x2 factorial design matrix
Hi all, I'm working on microarray and currently analyzing the microrarray data using limmaGUI. Loop design has been applied in this experiment. This is a 2X2 factorial experiment where there are control and treatment at 2 different time points, week 6 and 9. The experimental design is almost the same as the limmaGUI work example: Weaver Data set. I would like to look at the effect of

I have a dataset that I am running non-linear regression on via the following code: Hill <- function(E0,Em,C50,g,C){ # # Hill is the hill interaction function. # # E0 Represents the minimum interaction Effect # # Em Represents the Maximum Interaction Effect # # C50 represents the concentration at which 50% of the effect occurs. # # gamma represents the cooperativity of the

Running From Live DVD & Keeping Settings Between Boots
Someone posted how to use a memory card (USB or another kind) to save settings between boots of a Live CD/DVD. I believe it was posted not too long ago and I thought I had kept the email, but now that I'm looking for the information, I can not find it. I've done some searching and I either get way too many hits or way too few, none of which are what I'm looking for. Does anyone

Disappearing decimals... please help!
Maybe it''s all in my head, but I''m having the strangest little issue ever. My pricetags in my rails app are always whole numbers. Rails seems to completely ignore my decimal input. So as a consequence, 10.41 becomes 10.00, always. Here''s some worthwhile stuff: within my 004_create_products.rb file: :price, :decimal, :percision => 2, :default => 0 And calling

Linux backup help
Hi All; I'm awaiting a new linux laptop that will be my primary work machine. I want to implement a strategy that allows me as easily as possible to revert back to a former state. My primary concern is a scenario where I apply system updates and it breaks something that for me is critical. I wonder if a simple rsync script would work. If so, here's what I'm thinking: 1)

Autofilling a large matrix in R
I wish to create a matrix of all possible percentages with two decimal place percision. I then want each row to sum to 100%. I started with the code below with the intent to then subset the data based on the row sum. This works great for 2 or 3 columns, but if I try 4 or more columns the number of rows become to large. I would like to find a way to break it down into some kind of for loop, so

[RFC, PATCH 22/24] i386 Consolidate redundant timer code
Isolate some of the non-VMI timer related changes in Linux. This patch moves the cyc_2_ns conversion code into a common location, eliminating redundant code in hpet and tsc timer implementations, and introduces some macros that may be redefined by the sub-architecture to avoid dependence on APIC routing, CMOS time sync, and testing for broken time hardware (which presumably, does not happen in a

[PATCH/RFC] replace get_scheduled_cycles with sched_clock paravirt_op
Subject: Add a sched_clock paravirt_op The tsc-based get_scheduled_cycles interface is not a good match for Xen's runstate accounting, which reports everything in nanoseconds. This patch replaces this interface with a sched_clock interface, which matches both Xen and VMI's requirements. In order to do this, we: 1. replace get_scheduled_cycles with sched_clock 2. hoist cycles_2_ns

Intel libraries
Warning: newbie post I've scanned the archives and found some discussion of porting some code so it's integer based as opposed to floating point based. Has anyone looked at using Intel's Integrated Performance Primitives or their Math Kernel Library in an effort to optimize the code across all x86/XScale processors?
