New installation woes
I've just installed CentOS 5.2 for the x86_64 on a SuperMicro X6DA8-G board with two 250g SATA drives configured in the bios as a raid 1 array. After getting the base installed, I've tried to yum update the system and I wind up with these errors.... --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Missing Dependency: libmysqlclient.so.14(libmysqlclient_14)(64bit) is needed by package

perl-DBD-MySQL, libmysqlclient.16 and 5.7 (FInal)
Hello, I have server CentOS 5.7. It has mysql-community installed. I need to run perl-based tool (mysqlreport) and it requires perl-DBD-MySQL (not a surprise) When I am trying to install perl-DBD-MySQL via yum -- it says it requires libmysqlclient.*15 *and it conflicts with libmysqlclient.*16 *which was installed as a part of mysql-community. I tried to make symbolic link and force DBD to work

Missing perl-DBD-Pg security update
Hi, Any news when we may expect the missing perl-DBD-Pg security update for CentOS 5 from last week? https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2009-0479.html It came out the same day as the poppler security update that CentOS pushed 2 days later so I'm wondering why the perl-DBD-Pg security update still hasn't appeared. Is there an issue? Did it just get missed? Should we wait longer?

Oracle instantclient on CentOS 4.4 with DBD::Oracle
Does anyone have experience on installing the Oracle instantclient and DBD::Oracle on CentOS 4.4. I have been having several issues with getting the RPMs from Oracle's site working with DBD::Oracle. I can get the oracle instant client to install without issue. But I cannot compile/install DBD::Oracle using cpan or cpan2rpm. I found http://freshrpms.net/docs/oracle/ which has a nosrc rpm

centosplus + priority plugin
I have a Centos 4 box that has been updated all the way to 4.6 without using the centosplus repository. Now I want to use the centosplus repository for Centos 4 to get the latest LAMP, mod_perl, perl and other perl modules so that I can install rt 3.6.6 and its necessary modules. However, for some reason, the latest perl package in the centosplus repository does not appear on the radar when

Possible bug in yum requirements handling with yum-priorities
Just upgraded my perl-DBD-SQLite rpmforge package to 1.25 which resulted in all applications trying to use it to fail. As it turns out the following happened: Newer versions of DBD::SQLite need a DBI version of at least 1.57. The rpmforge package *does* include this requirement. However, CentOS includes DBI 1.52 and doesn't provide newer versions. As a good administrator I'm using yum

priorities don't prevent other repos overwritting packages?
Either I've made a mistake in my configuration or else packages from other repos can obsolete core packages For example, I did a "yum update" on some rpmforge packages and saw this: Installing: perl-Date-Manip noarch 5.54-2.el5.rf rpmforge 210 k replacing perl-DateManip.noarch 5.44-1.2.1 perl-IO-Compress noarch 2.024-1.el5.rf

Yum and case-sensitivity
Hi List, On one of our servers (CentOS 4 32 bit), we have the dag repo enabled. Yesterday morning during a yum update, yum replaced the CentOS package "perl-DBD-MySQL" with one from dag, "perl-DBD-mysql". For whatever reason, the two packages differ, in that only one of them (the CentOS built one) includes:

Yum update conflicts perl-Math-BigInt
I followed the Wiki instructions for setting up *yum-priorities*. I added the rpmforge repo I installed clamd without a problem. Now when I go to update I get conflicts with perl-Math-BigInt. Is the only solution to uninstall the base version and then install the rpmforge version? According the the wiki "Packages from repositories with a lower priority will never be used to upgrade
