iSCSI / GFS shared web server file system
We currently have a MD3000i with an iSCSI LUN shared out to our apache web
server. We are going to add another apache web server into the mix using
LVS to load balance, however, I am curious how well iSCSI handles file
locking and data integrity. I have the iSCSI partition formatted as ext3.
Is my setup totally flawed and will ext3 not allow for data integrity with
multiple apache hosts

creating ZFS mirror over iSCSI between to DELL MD3000i arrays
Hi,
I''ve looked at ZFS for a while now and i''m wondering if it''s possible on a server create a ZFS mirror between two different iSCSI targets (two MD3000i located in two different server rooms).
Or is it any setup that you guys recommend for maximal data protection.
Thanks,
/Thom

ZFS in front of MD3000i
We''re setting up ZFS in front of an MD3000i (and attached MD1000
expansion trays).
The rule of thumb is to let ZFS manage all of the disks, so we wanted
to expose each MD3000i spindle via a JBOD mode of some sort.
Unfortunately, it doesn''t look like the MD3000i this (though this[1]
post seems to reference an Enhanced JBOD mode....), so we decided to
create a whole bunch of

CentOS and Dell MD3200i / MD3220i iSCSI w/ multipath
We've been wrestling with this for ... rather longer than I'd care to admit.
Host / initiator systems are a number of real and virtualized CentOS 5.5
boxes. Storage arrays / targets are Dell MD3220i storage arrays.
CentOS is not a Dell-supported configuration, and we've had little helpful
advice from Dell. There's been some amount of FUD in that Dell don't seem
to know what

working with multiple password protected iSCSI targets on one host
Hi,
How do I setup multiple password protected iSCSI targets on Linux?
I know that mounting a password protected iSCSI target requires modify
these records with the appropriate values:
node.session.auth.username = My_ISCSI_USR_NAME
node.session.auth.password = MyPassword
discovery.sendtargets.auth.username = My_ISCSI_USR_NAME
discovery.sendtargets.auth.password = MyPassword
But, now I need

Best Practice to remove an ISCSI LVM from a system
Hi,
I'd like to know what would be the best way to remove an iscsi lvm
storage from a server. (removing all reference to that storage etc.)
The storage in question will be reset and reformated and used on a
different server; so no LVM export is needed.
Do I have to do lvremove ..., vgremove ..., pvremove ... and do an
iscsiadm -m node -T ... -p ... -u and
iscsiadm -m node -o delete -T ...

CentOS5 with Dell Broadcom iSCSI Offload, does it work ?
Hi all,
After finding multiples answers to this question via google, but without
making it work on my servers. Has anybody iSCSI Offload working on a Dell
Server with Broadcom NICs ?
My environment: I'm running CentOS 5.6 CR, on a Dell PowerEdge R710 with
Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5709 conecting to an EMC CX4-120 SAN,

iSCSI storage pool autostart
Hello everyone,
I have recently installed libvirt 1.0.0 and am having a problem with my
iSCSI storage pool's autostarting. They are just going to an inactive state
right after a reboot of the host. However once the startup is complete I
can manually start the pool without problem.
I am getting the following errors in the libvirtd.log file but they don't
really give me much as to what

Connect libvirt to iSCSI target
Hi!
I'm new to libvirt and face problems connecting to an iSCSI target.
What I intend to do is to connect libvirt (I tried virt-manager and
virsh) to an iSCSI target and then boot from the LUNs which contain
the VMs.
I followed the documentation¹ but got stuck at section 12.1.5.4.3.

How to force iscsi to see the new LUN size
Hi,
I increased the size of one of the LUNs and on CentOS 5.4 if I restart
iscsi (`service iscsi restart`) I'll see the the new size but this will
disconnect all other LUNs.
I'm hoping that there is isciadm or some other command that will force
iscsi to rediscover the LUNs but I can't seem to be able to come up with
one.
Resize2fs says that there is nothing to be done. I'm

ISCSI help
I am fairly new to ISCSI and SAN technology but having recently invested
in the technology I am trying to find out exactly what can and can not
be manipulated, filesystem wise, without requiring a reboot. I am using
the inbuilt software ISCSI initiator and multipathing in CentOS 5.1.
My steps so far.
Create 10GB volume on SAN

# fdisk /dev/mapper/mpath0

Possible to run iscsi-target and initiator on same server?
I am trying to install Oracle RAC in a two node cluster for testing
purposes, so performance is not something that concerns me. I just want
to go through the process all the way to creating a database. I have all
the prerequisites except the shared storage and thought I'd give this a
try.
I'm running:
- CentOS 5.3 kernel 2.6.18-164.el5
- iscsitarget-1.4.18-1

[PATCH] hotplug/Linux: add iscsi block hotplug script
This hotplug script has been tested with IET and NetBSD iSCSI targets,
without authentication.
This hotplug script will only work with PV guests not using pygrub.
