Cannot chain to another PXE server on the same subnet
Hi, I have a Linux server at ip address 10.215.144.7 running DHCP, TFTP and syslinux. DHCP config contains the following: next-server 10.215.144.7; filename "/pxe/syslinux/pxelinux.0"; and the 'default' pxelinux.cfg contains: LABEL altiris ??? MENU LABEL ^7. Altiris ??? COM32 pxechn.c32 ??? APPEND 10.215.144.60::/BStrap/x86pc/BStrap.0 When a PXE client boots in my network

Cannot chain to another PXE server on the same subnet
Sorry for top-posting but my webmail forces me to. I added -W to the APPEND line as suggested but I'm still getting the same result: Booting... Altiris, inc. X86PC PreBoot, PXE-2.x Enhanced Build ID=402 PXEPreZero: Invalid PXE Server list format. and the client PC freezes right there. Here's the full content of my dhcp.conf: max-lease-time 86400; ddns-update-style interim;

MySQL package to install on CentOS/RedHad 6.x
I can see Oracle has packages for RedHad 5 but not for 6... Should I install the rpm for redhad even though they are built against 5? Or should I install the generic rpm package from Oracle? anyone knows the differences? Thanks in advance Regards, Marc Deop

Missing smb.conf
I hope that someone can help me with this: I hav always used Samba by installing the binaries. That has worked well. But now I need the SSL-option - so I have to install it from the bottom. I use redhad 6.0 - and samba 2.0.6. First I removed the rpm of the existing installation(and deleted the smb.conf in /etc). Then I gunziped/untared the file in tmp. In the source directory I did the

Help needed to compile R with shared library.
Hi, I cannot compile R with shared library. I am using Redhad Linux on Dell hardware. Here''s what I am doing: I set ?PICFLAGS in config.site file: CPICFLAGS=-fPIC FPICFLAGS=-fPIC and issue: ./configure --enable-R-shlib --prefix=$HOME/newR make configure finishes with no complaints, the last informative line being: Options enabled: shared R library, shared BLAS, R

NT and slow logon
Hi, still got the problem of NT slow logon, what am I doing wrong? This is the situation: Samba running on Unixware 2.1.1, SVR4 and RedHad. Win95 and smbclient in any unix works fine. A win NT machine sees the workgroup, but browsing to it takes a LONG time ( 3 or 4 minutes or so..) and when the machines appear ( redhat, unixware and SVR4 ) it again takes a lot of time to log on, after that

In which one of the RedHad reference books can I find this? Just curious. Rick

High l-avg with centos 4.8 on G2 only
Hi We deployed centos 4.8 on HP DL380 G2, G3 and G4 servers (same number of cpus). The same software is running on all servers. Only on G2 servers we see a low cpu utilization combined with high load-average. For example, during the same time of day and same workload, on a G2 I see a l-avg of 11.31 and on a G4 I see 2.68. The server response time seems unchanged and we don't have any problem

Install question
I have been running Fedora for a number of years and have decided that for my mailserver system (which doubles as a small time web server) I want to go to an OS that has a supported lifespan of more than a year, especially since this machine has in the past been up longer than a year without reboots. The machine that it will ultimately host the OS is a dual processor P3 machine with 2GB of
