EDNS support
I am having problems with EDNS support on a few Centos 6.3 bind
servers. I am trying to determine if the problem is my Juniper SSG5
firewall of Centos.
All the servers have firewall enabled, though I have tested with
stopping iptables and ip6tables. I am using tests from:

DNSSEC
Well, folks,
There's an article on slashdot,
<http://tech.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=10/04/30/1258234>
Excerpt:
...the coming milestone of May 5, at 17:00 UTC ? at this time DNSSEC will
be rolled out across all 13 root servers. Some Internet users, especially
those inside corporations and behind smaller ISPs, may experience
intermittent problems. The reason is that some older

ssh session output stalls
Hello,
Is anyone else having problems with the ssh session output stalling
when ssh'd to another system and the command is running via sudo and a
pager is being used (e.g., more)?
Too highly reproducible :( to date, all known occurrences have
involved Centos 4.3 servers; makes no difference whether client is
RHEL WS 4.3, Centos 4.3 or FC 5 or WinDoze. Makes no difference if

recovery from loss of libssl.so.4?
libssl.so.4 was erased by accident and now, e.g., iinvoking wget results in:
wget: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.4: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
[root at mail src]#
How does one go about restoring libssl.so.4?
[I've tried Google, compiling current edition from source, yum
install, but note 'yum remove openssl' would take out about 140

Per a discussion with an Internet2 professor this PM:
ACHTUNG: Note the repo is apparently without SRPMs so it becomes
difficult to vet.
Further, no mirrors have been spotted, which is not to say there

We haven't had a lot of demand for Fedora...people seem okay with CentOS!
That just in from chunkhost.com, where you help them beta test Xen for $FREE :)

Blasphemous? any support for a REPO of current edition BIND, et al (e.g., BZ561299)?
Hello CentOS Community Members,
What is RH's be-all end-all justification for staying with an ancient
code base for such important programs as BIND et al?
A similar problem (to BZ561299) was first reported five (5) years ago
on the isc.org mailing list.
Is there any support among the CentOS community for a REPO of current
vintage for such important functions as BIND et al?
That question is

CentOS 4.3/postfix/procmail lock failures
Hello,
What is the proper solution to the problem below the sig?
For a similar issue, Phillip Guenther, procmail's maintainer, at
<http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.procmail/1623/match=error+writing+var+spool+mail>
suggests "chmod g+s /usr/bin/procmail", but I'm reluctant.
There are also suggestions that in this configuration the packager must

Gnu Screen - terminal issues
I really like gnu screen and use it everyday but there's one thing
that is a bit inconvenient, and that's the odd line wrapping and
terminal size issues that seem to pop up. The problem crops up when I
type or paste a really long command, and then go back and try to edit
it; the text starts to wrap over itself and you have no idea what you
are editing. Any fixes for this?

yum Transaction Check Error: re: nvidia conflicts
Googling this (specifically the nvidia-bug-report line below) doesn't
find anything.
This is a server (console is text only, no GUI), so we may not need
x11 nor nvidia, I dunno for sure.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

remote install/upgrade of FC3 name server to CentOS 4 or 5
Hello,
Does anyone know of a good URL that covers the remote install/upgrade
of a FC3 system to CentOS 4 or 5?
We have one physically stranded FC3 system which is a name server and
we need to upgrade to remove vulnerabilities.
Kind regards/ldv

merging Maildir from old machine to new machine
Dovecot version 1.0.rc26.
Situation is essentially a forklift upgrade to make more horsepower
available for email.
Given a new mail store using Postfix and Dovecot (Maildir), is it
possible to transfer from the old mail box (running the same config)
or will this generate problems with the various indices maintained by
Dovecot?
Kind regards and thanks/ldv
