cert issues, puppet agent applying configs, problems oh my!
So I''m new to puppet and I''m having a bear of a time just getting a test server going. I installed puppet and the puppet client via yum on CentOS on AWS, so that saved me some time. I followed a few various blog posts about getting everything set up and applying a file, etc. Now I am trying to install a module (puppetlabs/apache) and it''s failing miserably for me. I

mod_rewrite issue
I'm installing Drupal 6.2 in the document root of a CentOS 5 install using httpd-2.2.3-11.el5_1. I'm using a virtual host entry with the following rewrite rule to enable "clean" URLs: RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [R,L,QSA] This works fine expect the user still sees the "ugly" URL in the address bar. However, if I remove the R, it breaks completely. Any clues? I

updated Apache mod_expires?
I noticed that the apache rpm httpd-2.2.3-11.el5_1.centos.3.src.rpm has a bug in mod_expires. https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=39774 Please forgive a dumb question: how risky would using a Fedora httpd RPM be on a CentOS5 install? Jed

Apache 2.2 itk - 404 not found
Hi all, Freshly installed apache 2.2 with httpd-itk (from epel). When I try to access apache's document root from a browser on local network, it always serve me the Apache welcome page, even if I have a index.html and a phpinfo.php file in the /var/www/html folder. If point the browser specifically to http://server/index.html, I get a '404 Not found error'. I'm running CentOS

Somewhat OT:
Hi, I'm looking for a monitoring system that support snmp v3. I want to monitorize linux servers and network switches. Currently, I am trying to use zabbix, but sadly, it lack at present features that I need. For example, I want to get reporting screens with data and graphs from network switches, I'd like to configure one only port of a given switch and that is used as templates for the

where is ProxyHTMLURLMap for C5 ?
Hello, I'm setting up a reverse proxy in Apache (httpd-2.2.3-11.el5_1.centos.3) I have some pages being served which contain hard-coded names of machines behind the proxy, which obviously do not resolve on the client side. I found an Apache config item called ProxyHTMLURLMap* which supposedly will allow me to re-write these hostnames, but can't seem to find the apache module to install

apache service start problem
hello list!! I have developed a custom apache module for my company that setups up our own particular config of httpd and php in order to run our sites.. However, there is one wrinkle. It take two puppet runs to start the httpd service with this module and we''d like to get that down to one run! The reason seems to be that we have our own custom ssl vhost conf that we use called

NameVirtualHost and CGI Problems
On: Centos 5.2, with httpd-2.2.3-11.el5_1.centos.3 I tried to bring up a web server using an httpd.con that runs well on: Fedora 8, with httpd-2.2.8-1.fc8 as well as several earlier versions, going back to Fedora 4. On the Centos version, I cannot successfully: run a NameVirtualHost; execute a CGI. I can bring up a simple page if I avoid the above. Suggestions would be much

Verify tomcat config
I'm going to retire an old RHEL3 server and move the services to CentOS5. In particular, the web server is giving me a headache. On the old box, there's a hacked-up httpd/mod_jk/tomcat setup, and CentOS is perfect for the new box because the required components are included and the whole setup "just works" straight from installation. There seems to be surprisingly little

Ques about 5 vs. 3 in CentOS-announce Digest, Vol 35, Issue 9
I don't know if I'm brain damaged this A.M. or what, but I can't figure (recall?) why this summary says CentOS 5 in the "Today's Topics", has "el5" and "centos.3" as well in the md5sum. Gentle chides for being dense this morning are accepted. TIA -- Bill

Unable to log out normally
I've posted this question to the Gnome users list, but so far no luck, so I thought I'd mention this here. A little while ago, I noticed that I was no longer able to log out from my GDM. I'm running the default GDM (2.16) that comes with CentOS, and this problem started up right about the same time that I updated to the 53.1.4 kernel (from the 8.1.15 version). As I've posted
