Bug#286532: dnsmasq: misses message for DHCPINFORM due to 283331 fix
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.32
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
The fix for 283331 exposed a bug in the dnsmasq rules. The rule was
looking for DHCPINFO, but the actual message is DHCPINFORM. Prior to
the 283331 fix, the old rule worked, because the "[()[:alnum:]]+" part
of the rule matched the "RM" at the end of DHCPINFORM.

7960 Looses DHCP Lease when 7920 boots!?
I finally have my 7920 working though I'm seeing this bizarre
behavior. As soon as the 7920 boots and authenticates with the AP my 7960

How to disable dnsmasq from starting automatically with libvirtd
Hi.
I have a machine with a local DHCP server and a couple of virtual networks and
I've configured the server for each virtual interface, so that I would be able
to install VMs on the corresponding subnets using PXE.
The problem is that the two DHCP servers (my local server and dnsmasq) are
conflicting with each other causing the boot process to either fails or takes
ages untill a VM can

Xen and DHCP problem
Hey folks!
I want to add a CentOS 5.2 domU to an existing server (Fedora 8) which was setup by another company. The Dom0 does not provide any other services but a BIND-DHCP-server (they deleted dnsmasq and installed bind). Don''t ask my why they did that.
My new DomU is connected to eth0, which is a bridge. BIND also listens on eth0 to serve other machines.
I start the install of centos

CentOS 4.6 - dhcp issue
Hi - On my CentOS 4 cobbler server i am having some odd dhcp issues.
There is only 1 dhcp server on the network and the cobbler box manages
the dhcp. When i kick off the PXE install during the PXE phase things
seem OK then when anaconda tried to get an IP sometimes things work out
fine and other times it sits waiting for hostname/domainname. From the
logs you can see that the mac requesting

PXE problem after CentOS reboot
Dear folks,
We are installing a large diskless cluster using CentOS 5.1. The
hardware is pretty new - Supermicro X7DWT boards with Harpertown CPUs.
Unfortunately we have some PXE-related problems described by the
following scenario:
1) Set up DHCP, TFTP and NFS on a server, prepare PXE kernel and initrd
- fine.
2) Start up the node using PXE for the first time - fine.
3) Reboot the node - PXE

sshd logging with GMT times?
Hi folks,
while chasing down a logging-related situation, I happened to notice
that when I connect via ssh to my system it makes the following logs:

CentOS Plus PHP5 upgrade.
Hi Folks,
I have some users who have a 64-bit CentOS 4.x install (current),
which was installed with @Everything and then some annoying packages
strategically removed (mrtg, pegasus*, mailman...) and they have
decided they have a need for php5.
I find on the web this instruction for doing this:
http://www.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/Readme.txt
So I try to do this, and I get:
# rpm -e

4.92 Beta questions.
Installing through PXE, interactively from an NFS source. The
installer is in text mode even though I have 512MB of memory.
Two questions.
1. When installing package sets, I do not see an "Everything" option
the way there was in 4.x. Should there be? I also don't recall being
asked if I wanted Server/Workstation/Custom groupings.
2. When partitioning the disk, if I

PHP5/CentosPlus big mess.
Ok, so if you tuned in last time, I couldn't make the installation/upgrade of
PHP5 from the Centos4 CentOS Plus repository work. Not one to be easilly
dissuaded, I shapened my shovel and dug myself a hole.
So using the exclude= lines in the repository config file backfired big time:
even if I excluded the exclude= lines, yum continued to exclude the files
on those lines, and only deigned to

Firefox Tab Cycle Plugin?
Hi folks,
I thought I saw a comment on this list a ways back about a firefox
plugin that would make a browser automatically cycle through the tabs
it had loaded. We'd like to use this to load some monitoring systems
in tabs, and then have the browser cycle through them so we have a
poor-man's status display station.
Does anyone know more specifics about this plugin I think I heard

DMA mode
Hi folks,
I have an HP Proliant 140DL G2 server with what appears to be an IDE
drive in non-DMA mode. Performance on the server is extremely bad
when large amounts of disk activity is taking place.
I think the problem is that my drive is not in DMA mode:
# hdparm /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
multcount = 16 (on)
IO_support = 0 (default 16-bit)
unmaskirq = 0 (off)

Automounter issue
Anyone seen this before?
I have a number of file systems nfs mounted onto clients running
various versions of CentOS (and Upstream), although mostly they are
v5.x flavors. =20
The server is a Network Appliance filer.
When the build process for this team runs, it sometimes dies because
it can't find files in the automounter tree; if the engineer checks,
he sometimes sees a problem, and

Sendmail: timeout waiting for input from local during Draining Input
Hi folks,
I've recently replaced a RedHat EL 3.x system with a CentOS 5 system
(fully yum'd as of Tuesday). This was a full-pave install, although
we did copy the sendmail.mc from the original system.
Now I get a lot of this in my logs:
