SIP only
Initially I'm setting up asterisk to do SIP only, no cards, no connection to PSTN or ISDN - just receiving 'calls' via SIP, answering them and playing a message.. Can anyone point me to a walkthrough that is focused on SIP alone? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Samba 3.0 and ADS How to
HelloList, Do someone have got a link/document/"How To" for setting up Samba 3.0 in ADS-Enviroment. I read Samba-Collection-How-To, but I got stuck and need help. My favour will be a easy and perspicuous manual like a walkthrough Thanks in advance. Regards Dominik Brosch

Need help installing some software
I need help installing some software. I've tried with Red Hat's version of wine, Transgaming's version, and the CVS version (latest try is wine-cvs-opengl-120902-1 from http://wine.dataparty.no/). I get different results with all of them. Could anyone do a walkthrough with me using any of the above versions? Sometimes it seems like there is just a registry problem, other times it

redhat rpm install and quick start
I installed Xapian and Omega following the instructions for the RHEL 5 RPM package found at xapian.org. I was going to perform the quick start instructions, but there is not "omnidex" for the omindex --db DBPATH --url / WEBPATH command. The quick start also mentions running omega from usr/lib/omega/bin; however that was not created as well using the RHEL 5 RPM. Is there a walkthrough on

LD_LIBRARY_PATH issues
Here is the thing. All workstations in the network have the /etc/profile modified and set up to call a profile script in the network that sets up variables that we need here. Here $LD_LIBRARY_PATH and other variables get set, fixed, or modified to support our development process. The weird thing is that while in a TTY the $LD_LIBRARY_PATH is fine and retains its value. But if I log in to the gui

walkthrough: Rails 2.0 startup process
I haven’t found a complete big-picture walkthrough for the Rails startup process when I looked for one recently. There are some really useful resources about this but they are for Rails 1.2 and each of them only covers certain parts of the process. Thus, I’ve taken some notes while reading to the Rails code and compiled the following guide from them.

e1000 gig nic howto?
We have a 10Gbps connection to our server so I need to be able to create VMs using the faster e1000 nics instead of the default Realtek 100Mbps ones but I''m not sure how to go about it. Is there a walkthrough or "howto" or can someone point me at some simple instructions? I''m using xen-3.0.3-105.el5_5.5 and Centos 5.5 kernel 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5.centos.plusxen VMs are

noob help document?
I am new to linux. I installed wine, but I am not sure I even installed it correctly. I have no idea how to run it, and all the help files ive seen are above the true novice level. Is there a complete walkthrough? I downloaded wine to my desktop (latest Ubuntu release) and managed to install it using the ./tools/wineinstall command. But after that...no idea what to do. It seems to have installed

iplanet ldap and samba
Is there a good how-to on getting samba to work with Iplanet LDAP ? I already installed it and started configuring from bits and pieces I could find with google, but there're still many things missing. I also found a posting that said samba schema for Iplanet5 shipped with Samba 3.0.8 isn't up to date. What would need to be changed ? Basically I'm looking for a complete walkthrough,

Building the Symbian compatible library.
I apologise in advance if there is anything that i have failed to read properly in the documentation, but i have been unable to find a guide for building the .lib from the supplied Symbian project files. Is there anyone who could give me a brief walkthrough of the necessary steps? Is there a preferred environment? Will it build for emulator as well as target device platforms? I am using the

iTunes plugin help, please?
Hello, I'm afraid this is a terribly noobish issue, but I can't figure out how to install you FLAC/OGG plugin for iTunes. I read the ReadMe file that came with the download, but it wasn't terribly specific on WHERE the file is supposed to be copied in the library. I tried copying it to the library/iTunes/Plugins folder, but nothing happened. Could you please help me out with a

Thank you Andrew and Roland. I appreciate it. I haven't built one for a few years. Last time I did so I used a walk through that I think Lois Van Belle wrote. Does Dovecot LDAP auth support LDAP referral
We using Dovecot with LDAP. From the beginning, we using GC LDAP query with port 3268 for email accounts. For example, user1 at our-organization.org (in the USA) with "base = dc=our-organization, dc=org" works fine. But refer to this document: https://wiki2.dovecot.org/AuthDatabase/LDAP When we change the LDAP from 3268 to 389 and with TLS, the base should be changed like this:

Windows10+samba share: The remote computer isn’t responding to connections on port 445
Hello everyone I am having an issue with one particular windows 10 PC not being able to map a samba share. When I map the network drive:*\\hostname\share* the window prompt to login pops up. I enter the correct username and password and after a minute I get this error: *The network path was not found. 0x80070035*. Looking at the windows 10 logs, I can see this message: *file and print

Cucumber "standard base" setup?
I''m trying to set up cucumber so we can try it in some Ruby automation scripts I''m working on. These will be straight Ruby, for use in BBEdit and TextMate (on the Mac). NOT Rails. The big early-stage stumbling block I''m having is setting up the initial Rakefile and directory structure. I think I''m rtfm''ing, but clearly I''m missing
