Urgent help on replacing /var
In a moment of epic stupidity, having ran out of space on the root partition of a server due to /var chewing up the space, I added a separate drive for the purpose of mounting it as /var To do so, I mounted the new drive as /var2, cp -R (in hindsight should had rsync to preserve attributes), deleted the original /var to free up space, edited fstab and rebooted... unsurprisingly to a fubar'd

Following are the output that I get for this set: > mean(data[,2]) [1] 400.5433 > sd(data[,2]) [1] 1139.786 > > rsFit(data[,2], levels = 64) Title: Hurst Exponent from R/S Method Call: rsFit(x = data[, 2], levels

CnetOS 7, hostname, and rsyslogd
A current system, but this has been happening since I built this box last fall: the system gets its name via DHCP, not from a hostname file. On reboot, such as after a yum update, it *appears* as though rsyslogd is started before the network is up, and so it doesn't have its hostname yet... so /var/log/messages shows the hostname as localhost. If I restart rsyslogd, and everything's fine.

Xen 3.0.4 + CentOS5.2 "Could not mount root filesystem."
I''m trying to install Xen 3.0.4 But It couldn''t mount root filesystem. I''m using the board, loads AMD SB750 chipset. I''m guessing the reason that is the lack of sata driver in 2.6.16.33-xen. So, when I copy libata and ata_piix driver from other driver from compatible kernel source, could it be running well? And, could you advice about copying drivers?

A problem about upgrade centos5.2
hi, i made a mistake that i used centos5.4 i686 to upgrade the centos 5.2 x86_64,which runs on a server whose cpu is Xeon. The server seems to need CentOS X86_64 version. Should i use the?CentOS 5.4 X86_64 disk to upgrade the CentOS 5.4 i 686? Ps.I urgently need to upgrade it because the glibc x86_64 conflicts with the i686 one....It drives me crazy and i am hitting my head against the wall...
