Dependency problems with Yum update
I am spoiled with Yum: never have had a dependency problem until today. Can this be resolved: ---> Downloading header for compat-openldap to pack into transaction set. compat-openldap-2.3.27_2. 100% |=========================| 30 kB 00:00 ---> Package compat-openldap.i386 0:2.3.27_2.2.29-4.el4.centos set to be updated --> Running transaction check --> Processing Dependency:

Issue with package-cleanup --oldkernels with PAE kernel
I'm not sure if this is a bug, known issue, feature, etc. On my CentOS systems with the PAE kernel installed, package-cleanup behaves as follows: # rpm -q kernel package kernel is not installed # rpm -q kernel-PAE kernel-PAE-2.6.18-92.1.13.el5 kernel-PAE-2.6.18-92.1.18.el5 kernel-PAE-2.6.18-92.1.22.el5 # uname -r 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5PAE # package-cleanup

/dev/md1 => 93% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up. - what would be safe to delete in /boot ?
> Could someone please suggest me, which files in my /boot partition would be > safe to delete? Don't "delete" anything. It's to do with old kernels - kernels aren't updated as such, new ones are just installed. So long as you don't need the old kernels, just remove the old kernel RPMs. In fact there are a number of tools to help you. By default yum keeps 5

Please: Judge this script
I copied and tried to adapt to my necessities the excellent script of Pedro Larroy, but I am inexperienced in QoS and I have doubts. Hello all, I am sort of new to XEN and I have a dedicated server that is hosted for me. This server is an intel single quad 4 with 4 gig of ram. The OS is Centos 5 completely updated. I have installed XEN from the add and remove applet within Centos. Here is my grub.conf: default=0 timeout=5 splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz hiddenmenu title CentOS (2.6.18-92.1.10.el5PAE)

kernel-2.6.18-8.1.15
Hi, It seems to me, that kernel-2.6.18-8.1.15 is maybe not ok. I have been trying to rebuild my patched kernel RPMS in virtual machine running i686 kernel-2.6.18-8.1.15. It had failed for the three times with segmentation fault. First run under kernel-2.6.18-8.1.14 went smoothly. So, maybe it's a kernel issue or it's VMWare (Server 1.04). Anyone to reproduce the issue? Thanks, David

Network Problem after update 3.0 -> 3.1: blkback
Hello, I have a big problem: Dom0 is centos5.1, domU are centos5.1. My setup is really simple, the only thing is that I give 3 nics to the domU so I use a modified network script (which has worked since january... since fedora 6): " #!/bin/sh dir=$(dirname "$0") "$dir/network-bridge" "$@" vifnum=0 "$dir/network-bridge" "$@" vifnum=1

kernel-vm.i686 5.0-->5.1 "Error: Missing Dependency: kernel-headers is needed by package glibc-headers"
Cough, cough, cough (I have a bit of a cold, please excuse me) Thanks for the great CentOS. I assume the following means I need to humbly ask for the kernel-vm for 5.1, but I am not certain. If so, I hereby humbly ask. --> Running transaction check --> Processing Dependency: kernel-headers for package: glibc-headers --> Processing Dependency: kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 for package:

FW: Logwatch for XXXXXXX.kd4efm.org (Linux)
Found an error or two from my logwatch report from yesterday, thought I would share this in hopes this is just first time run of the problem I noticed in the Kernel report section... Also not sure why there's an issue with automount either.... but I guess I could ask on that issue as well. I am not worried about the NAMED error, this is something that happens due to one of the services that

Kernel panic - where to go from here?
CentOS 5 has been running continuously since 9/21 on my "do everything" home server (with the exception of a kernel update). It's a fairly old Athlon machine that serves as a firewall and various servers (dovecot, samba, NFS, dhcp, OpenVPN, etc). I connected via OpenVPN about a week ago and discovered I get a kernel panic. I've since found that this is very repeatable and
