Which libtiff 3.8.2 do I grab?
Via google: libtiff 3.8.2
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/2839214/com/libtiff-3.8.2-2.x86_64.rpm.html
This got me to a page all about libtiff 3.8.2 for 'Fedora other' and a link
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=libtiff&srodzaj=3
for other distributions.
So which do I take?

hfsplus on C7
I followed the instructions (I thought) for hfsplus on C7.
Installed elrepo
Then installed hfsplus hfsplus-tools and kmod-hfsplus kmod-hfs
rpm -qa | grep hfs clearly shows the items
kmod-hfsplus-0.0-2.el7.elrepo.x86_64
hfsplus-tools-540.1.linux3-4.el7.x86_64
kmod-hfs-0.0-2.el7.elrepo.x86_64
When I do my mount command
mount -t hfsplus -o loop Mac.dmg /mnt/mac
mount: unknown filesystem type

hfsplus.ko
Hey on Centos 5 hfsplus.ko is part of the Kernel:
kernel-2.6.18-238.12.1.el5.x86_64 : The Linux kernel (the core of the
Linux operating system)
Repo : installed
Matched from:
Filename : /lib/modules/2.6.18-238.12.1.el5/kernel/fs/hfsplus/hfsplus.ko
doing a yum provides "*/hfsplus.ko" on CentOS 6 finds nothing.
What happened to hfsplus.ko on Centos 6?
Thanks,
Jerry

HFSPlus Question
In CentOS 7.2.1511 does the 3.10.0-327.18.2.el7.centos.plus.x86_64 (Plus)
kernel read HFSPlus iMac drives? I don't see any hfsplus modules installed
anywhere, so I suspect not. My sister's 17" iMac died, and I'm trying to
recover the drive. If it spins up, I'd like to copy it with dd.
I see that Elrepo has kmod-hfsplus and hfsplus-tools, will these work with
the Plus kernel?

packaging: src.rpm not a rpm
Hi all,
I have installed the recommended installs from here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/RebuildSRPM
I want to build a "ipfm" RPM on a CentOS 6.2, for legacy purpose.
I cant immediately get rid of that piece of software, but we're on the
move...
So:
$ wget
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/3/srodzaj/2/search/ipfm-0.11.5-alt1.src.rpm
$ rpm -i --nomd5

octave
trying to install octave from epel onto centos 5.2, and getting
dependency errors. only place I could find this RPM was in epel, which
I 'thought' ran on native rhel5/centos5 without requiring any other
repos, but I guess I'm wrong?!?
google tells me libhdf5 is some sot of 'heirarchial data format'
library, whatever that means.
# yum install octave

It's in mainline so I don't know why it would not be built. It certainly
exists on Fedora. You could get

Can not build Samba 4.7.10
Samba 4.7.10 is unwilling to find my pyldb-util v 1.2.3
Checking for system pyldb-util (>=1.2.3 <=1.2.999)

ERROR: System library pyldb-util of version 1.2.3 not found, and

Building of Samba 4.7.9 in the same environment works flawlessly.
What goes wrong in Samba 4.7.10 with detection of pylab?
