mail delivery location wrong
Hi,
thanks for offering the oportunity to place a question here.
I am now already working since a week to get postfix and dovecot working
on a ubuntu 11.04 server.
Hard task. First step was naturally to get familiar with the idea behind
the archtitecture.
I have come very far, but the "last dirty mile" is probably the hardest.
My architecture:

outlook 2007 very slow.
Hello
I have a user with 2500+ sub folders. Total mailboxes size is around
6G. (mdbox, dovecot 2:2.0.14)
Syncing/Receiving appears to be slow, with outlook 2007. He does not
want to switch to an alternative, due to various reasons.
I did not find any error logs indicate issues.
during idle, imap process appears to loop at adding inotify watches to
all folders.
I found outlook-idle in wiki,

OT: Sieve + Forward as Attachment
I know that this is technically not a Dovecot problem; however, I was
wondering if anyone knew if 'sieve' had been updated with the ability
to 'forward as attachment' a received document. I believe it has the
ability to forward a document; however, I need the ability to forward
it as an attachment if possible.
Also I believe, somewhat due to my asking for them, that sieve exits

Segfault in libdovecot-sieve
Hello,
I've been getting these messages in dmesg:

Dovecot's version is 2.0.3. Is this known? What other kind of information could be useful to help find this issue?
Thanks,Andre

postfix-dovecot-sasl help
I'm trying to set up SMTP authentication on my server and am getting an
authentication failed error. My client is set up to automatically
select authentication method and tries CRAM_MD5. The
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL suggests "passdb
pam" and "userdb passwd" -- is it possible to configure sasl
authentication using a dovecot.conf like

Sieve scripts
Hi
I have a simple sieve script to discard email with a certain string in
the subject.
I now need to beef this up a bit with the following:
if header :contains "subject" "A" and "B" and not "C"
discard
if header :contains "subject" "A" and "D" and not "C"
discard
else
pass
Maybe my google skills are failing but

SQL Server
Is there any support for using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 as
the SQL database for users? Although I would prefer to do it other
ways, the company I work for has all of their virtual hosting
authentication tied into a SQL Server. Any ideas? Thank you.

integrating procmail
Hello, list members!
I'm new to dovecot, and haven't needed to maintain an email server
instance for quite some time.
I recently got a fairly simple postfix + dovecot installation functional
as needed, however I now need to get procmail filtering incoming
mail, and after reading various docs and wikis, I find that I'm still
having a tough time feeling confident on how best to

Using google 2 step authentication
Google authenticator has a PAM interface:
http://code.google.com/p/google-authenticator/wiki/PamModuleInstructions
Have someone tried implementing it onto Dovecot? It would be really great if you consider your emails important!

Authentication with lower case username ONLY
Hi,
how do you guys force your users to authenticate with lower case letters
ONLY? Or convert it?
Is there a SASL Option to force that - or are you using scripts i.e. a
bash script in combination with the command "tr" ... or a third solution
I didn't think of yet?
I'm using Postfix / Dovecot combination. Postfix is told to use Dovecots
SASL Service to authenticate it's

Question about Client Certificates
Hi,
I have a simple dovecot installation, version 1.2.12 of ubuntu 10.10.
I also have a straightforward newbie question! I've hunted in the wiki
and on the wider web, but not yet found a solution.
Current status: I have successfully configured imap with tls, accessed
on port 993, and for security require a valid client certificate to be
presented, using ssl_require_client_cert and
