" Does anyone know if there is a program for linux like ices that can dump live audio from an input to an mp3 file? Or, is there any software for windows that can capture the mic input and line in input and encode them seperately but both live? use clang++ to build lulesh 2.0 failed
> It looks like clang++ is complaining about the thrust library comes with cuda, The Thrust library that comes with CUDA is indeed not compatible with clang. We made a number of changes to Thrust to make it work with clang (it was relying on what we considered to be bugs in nvcc), but they're only available in the upstream Thrust: https://github.com/thrust/thrust. No promises that one

Hello guys, I have this data set that I imported into R using a line: This data set consists of 7 columns. I want to modify and update the items in the Depot - "display_cart". Since the cart is in a session, its a little hard to get at the data. I just want to create a way to change quantities, prices and recalculate. Has someone done this, and could you point me to the right direction. Thanks Chas -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

main features of Rails 2.0 ?
Now that Rails1.2 will be released in a week or two, I can''t help but wonder what''s in store in Rails2.0. To me the Rails1.2 is all about REST. Of course they have added some nify features all around (nil?, passing a has to find and much more). But the main thrust was REST. What''s the main thrust in Rails 2.0? - Neeraj

How to get nice trees
I would like to make pretty trees such as the one on page 383 of Chambers and Hastie, or page 346 of Venables and Ripley. I modified the post.rpart function, adding splits=T to text(), but the split criteria still don't print. Would anyone have any advice on this? Thanks. I'm running version 0.63 on Linux (intel). ______________________________________________________________________

reference for a fortune quote
Hi, there is a quote in the fortunes package: To paraphrase provocatively, `machine learning is statistics minus any checking of models and assumptions'. -- Brian D. Ripley (about the difference between machine learning and statistics) useR! 2004, Vienna (May 2004) Was this statement made in a presentation? If so, would it be possible to get a reference for the presentation?

Figuring out name of Kerberos server?
Hi! I'm on a conquest to get Samba 3.0 to authenticate against an Active Directory. For this, I need to have Kerberos working. However, I don't know the name of our Kerberos server. If I've got a Windows machine which is part of the Active Directory, can I somehow get it to tell me the name of the Kerberos server? Or could I use a packet sniffer to get the name of the server?

Creating 'trash' folder
This might well be OT; however, I thought I would ask anyway. Please keep in mind that the IMAP server is Dovecot. I have a friend who uses Becky Internet Mail <http://www.rimarts.co.jp/becky.htm> on a Windows system. There us an options under the configuration menu in Becky to create the trash folder on the server. It suggest ".trash" for the name. He is aware that I use Dovecot

Weird DISKS behaviour on 4.8-STABLE
Hello people, I have been experiencing a weird problem with 4.8-STABLE for a long time. I was ignoring it, thinking that it was a problem with the SCSI disks or perhaps the contoller. I changed the disks from the original Intel box to a Compaq box and I still noticed the problem was there. What happened is that all of a sudden, the disk would 'fill' up with nothing! Yes, that's true.

can you see the future?
looks like my message from last week about writing tools was right on time... we are enjoying a display of fireworks now going off in this particular arena... fletcher started work on an editing app with markdown-preview built right in, after reporting on his blog that he had "seen the future" in ali's post last month, where ali debuted his syntax highlighter, and fletcher is

Re-establishing a Samba 2.2.1a domain controller after major "crash"
Our Samba 2.2.1a domain controller suffered a major disk error the other day. The partition with /etc and /dev died. :( I?ve now reinstalled SuSE 7.3, and re-established the UNIX password files (passwd, group, shadow) from backup, further more I?ve re-established the files from /etc/samba (MACHINE.SID, groups.mapping, lmhosts, machine.sid, secrets.tdb, smb.conf, smbpasswd, smbusers).
