Xen on 32bit machine with 8GB of RAM
I wanted to install Xen on 32bit processor with 8GB RAM. I am running Debian on it. The general Kernel can only address ~4GB of RAM. So, Is it necessary to install BigMEM kernel so that all the memory get addressed? And then install xen kernel. Or ?? Suggestions welcome. Thanks, gorkhe _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

asterisk and bigmem kernel
Hi all, I installed asterisk 1.4.22 on a Dell poweredge 2950, with 4GB RAM. I used debian, but the default kernel doesn't recognize the 4GB, just 3, so I installled the linux-image-2.6.18-6-686-bigmem kernel, that do recognize the whole 4GB. Asterisk seems to be installed correctly, but I had two issues: (1) I had an error with zaptel. Asterisk didn't start with zaptel modules loaded. I

Package: xen-utils-3.2-1 Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: normal Tags: patch Hi, There is a bug xen-3-3.2.1/tools/libfsimage/reiserfs/fsys_reiserfs.c, it is using "unsigned long" which is 64 bits on amd64 arch and 32 bits on i386 arch. This makes pygrub can't work on reiserfs on amd64 arch. You can easily reproduce it. A patch is included for fixing this problem. diff

Hi William, Please could you provide some more details of the failure since this functionality works for me both with the Debian packages and upstream and I don't recall any additional patches upstream. Are there any messages in the logs? Particularly /var/log/xen/xend* and /var/log/xen/domain-builder-ng.log. Which kernel are you trying to load? The standard Lenny -686-bigmem kernel

Convert Debian 6 from HVM to PV
I have a couple Debian 6 HVM VMs. From what I''ve read, Debian 6''s standard kernels have pv_ops already enabled. I''d like to convert these to pv for the following reasons (Assuming both of are valid expectations): 1) so the VMs use pv for the NICs 2) so the VMs properly respond to shutdown/reboot commands from xm I''m having trouble converting them. I believe

Anyone using fuse and/or sshfs under Centos 4.4?
Hi A search of google failed to show any prebuilt rpms for sshfs and fuse. I do see that fuse support is in 2.6.14 kernel which isn't a whole lot of help. Before I dive headlong into this has anyone successfully built fuse/sshfs against Centos 4.4. If so would you share your experience? Thanks Daveh

The additional rule is the same as all others in my .dovecot-sieve: > require ["fileinto", "include"]; > > if header :contains ["From"]

Trying to upgrade domU to squeeze
Hello, Not sure this is the right place to ask Xen user-questions. I am running Lenny and try to upgrade a domU to Squeeze. After the installation of a new xen-kernel in the domU and upgrading udev I did a reboot but then the kernel does not find the root anymore, and it's dropping me to a shell. When I look into /dev/ I don't see any disks or partions. Is here somebody who can help me
