What I want to ask you is: - What do you think about it? - Did you find it useful? - Do you have any advices? Drive Failing
I got an email from smartd yesterday with the following error: SMART Health Status: SERVO IMPENDING FAILURE SEEK ERROR RATE TOO HIGH [asc=5d,ascq=43] I understand this means the drive is probably going to fail. This device is /dev/sda and is part of /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 Is it possible to replace the single failing drive and if so, what would be the steps so that data isn't lost.

Do I need to enable qemu-ga's guest-suspend: hybrid/suspend-ram/disk/shutdown?
How do I "enable" qemu-ga on a guest to be able to (I think this means have a success-response:true) for: guest-suspend-hybrid; guest-suspend-ram; guest-suspend-disk; and guest-shutdown? At least I think that's my question. http://wiki.stoney-cloud.org/wiki/Qemu_Guest_Agent_Integration shows these same 4 as false, so I'm not sure if they're always supposed to be that way.

Ubuntu + Wine = Can't See My WoW :(
Hello all, I've been struggling for a while now to get World of Warcraft running under wine, and there's lots of helpful information out there, but nothing seems to address the particular problem that I am having. Rather than try to explain it to you, it would be easier just to show you a screenshot: http://www.maj.com/gallery/servo/00-BitBucket/wow-opengl.png In a nutshell, the

Communicating with a USB device
OK, I know this has been asked before, but I'm afraid I can't find it in the archives, so I'm asking *again*. Sorry. I have a USB device (Parallax Propellor USB servo controller http://tinyurl.com/425jm8q) - that uses an FTDI chip to appear on a Windows system as a COM port and which, so far as I can tell, appears on my Linux box as /dev/ttyUSB0 (at least, that device appears

External harddisk
Since you have taken the disk apart it will now be useless as within the enclosure there could have been a vacuum or an inert gas. You will never be able to recover any data on the disk unless you go and pay for a professional data recovery organisation to read the platters. The price for a replacement 340GByte USB disk is about $25 which would give you a better product than your old disk.
