pae hypervisor and kernel
hi,
first of all, you guys make great work to use xen under debian.
I use etch to set up a xen server for later production use and so i try to use
as much debian packages without manual adaptations to later use security
updates when etch is released.
As i have a machine with 16G of ram i need the pae versions of the hypervisor

Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386
Version: 3.2.0-2

I'm afraid this bug report will be somewhat unspecific. Please let me
know what I need to do in order to extract more useful information out
of xen.
I have done the following to install xen:
installed xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386, xen-utils-3.2-1,

fixed /usr/sbin/update-grub (see bug #455706)

Problems setting up Ali USB controller
Hi.
Im faced with a little problem when trying to give an Ali USB 2.0
controller to a guest system:
when i try to start my domu, it says that the backend device could not
be found.
Im using Debian etch both as dom0 and as domU.
Im using the standard binary installation from the Debian etch
repositority tree (kernel, hypervisor, ...).
Im running xen 3.0.3-1 and both use a 2.6.18 kernel.

Xen and Linux on Intel G33 needs kernel 2.6.19+
Dear,
I''m looking to get Xen running on a system that (afterwards) seems a bit
too new. The board has the Intel G33 chipset with the Intel ICH9
southbridge. This chipset is NOT supported by kernel 2.6.18 which ships
with Xen 3.1.2 (and Debian Etch).
So the question is:
* What version of Xen to install to get going? Should I choose unstable?
* What distribution will be the easiest to get

Testing Xen on Lenny
Hello, I've been asked to test this, can anyone help me?
The platform I would like to test on:
- Lenny/amd64
- Intel VT-i (Xen HVM support)
I've looked over the various threads and wiki pages on the issue and I
thought I would try to summarise it more concisely:
dom0 (32 bit):
- regular install using Lenny CD, Debian Installer, i386
- install the kernel package from etch,

Password unused in vnc console
Hi folks,
I''m updating my xen server from a dom0 on debian sarge, using a self
compiled xen 3.0.4 and a kernel 2.6.16, to a standard debian etch using the
deb packages xen 3.0.3 and kernel 2.6.18.
On the old server, all my hvm machines use vnc console and a password is set
into xend-config.sxp and it works nice.
On the new etch server, with the same hvms and configuration files,

Samba seems to forget ACLs sometime
Hello,
I have a strange problem here, we have 4 samba servers plus a PDC with samba and openldap as backend.
Users are organized in groups and we give group ACLs to directories to grant access. This worked until
a few weeks ago, when we upgraded from Debian Sarge to Etch.
Since then samba seems to forget ACLs sometimes. This is almost not reproducible. Users who have normally access

I forgot to present the problem of wine failure to launch also to the wine

While my amd64 debian etch is in order, 32 bit debian etch has suffered much
and is now in a state of semi-mess.

Debian Etch doesn''t boot 2.6.26-bpo.1-xen-686 but 2.6.26-bpo.1-686 works fine?
Hoi,
I am trying to get a 32 bit Debian Etch system up & running with kernel
2.6.26 from backports.
The system boots fine with 2.6.26-bpo-1-686 but cannot boot with
2.6.26-bpo.1-xen-686, see below. The Xen kernel loads the disc
controller (dpt_i2o) OK and detects the RAID array successfully but
still can''t mount its root filing system. Any ideas?
kind regards,

HFC-S ISDN cards in Xen3.0.3 DomU''s
Hi!
I just wanted to ask if anyone managed to get "ordinary" HFC-S ISDN
cards with the zaphfc driver running in a Xen3 DomU.
I am referring to this post (
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2007-04/msg00202.html ),
which perfectly describes my problem and I am therefore going to
simply copy-and-paste it here:

Hello,
I am trying to install xen in a debian box. I have installed your
packages for etch version. In that package, in the documentation, in the
README.Debian.gz file, you say:
"...The only thing we can give you is the patch, which is included in
the linux-patch-xen package. You are expected to install this package,
download a 2.6.12 kernel from kernel.org (this is the version supported
