Bug#409392: xen-utils-3.0-unstable-1: xenstored creates /dev/xen/evtchn with the wrong minor
Package: xen-utils-3.0-unstable-1
Version: 3.0-unstable+hg11561-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
with the recent unstable kernel, the evtchn device should be created
with major/minor 10, 63. Instead, it's being created with 10, 201. If
fixed manually, xenstored will re-create it with the wrong minor number.
This causes Xen to be entirely unusable, as xenstored is

Graphics: Improving a Lattice plot - can it be done ?
Hallo all
I realise this might be a "too much to ask" question, but can I improve the Lattice plot produced by the following code? The type of figure I would like to produce in each segment of the plot appears below the code.

Bug#393953: xen-3.0: DomU sometimes crashes while booting
Package: xen-3.0
Severity: important
While booting the DomU, it sometimes crashes, especially if the
vif-device is not up yet. I managed to get the console output (xm
console test), which I'll attach to this bug report. It seems it is some
kernel bug, but I'm not sure.
If you need more information, please tell me how to get it, and I will
try to post it.

Bug#677244: xen-utils-common: xen-toolstack fails if either `xm` or `xl` is not found in xen-dir
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.2-7
Severity: grave
Tags: patch
Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer,
The script /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack improperly aborts if *either*
`xm` or `xl` cannot be found in the xen-dir (/usr/lib/xen-4.0/bin). This means
that a default installation (e.g. following Debian wiki on the subject, namely
installing xen-linux-system and

Bug#536173: xen-utils-3.4 need to depend on 3.4 version of xenstore
Package: xen-utils-3.4
Version: 3.4.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
This packages should depend on the 3.4 version of xenstore utils
and library, because it the Lenny versions are installed,
xend crashes instead of starting up.
(Many users choose to run lenny/sid hybrid systems,
with lenny as default, so it's completely plausible

When booting Xen Dom0 on my Dell 2950, the kernel panics. I have been
unable to get the serial console working under xen (works under normal
kernels), so the best debugging info I can provide is a screenshot of
the console when it dies. I will attach that after the bug is

Important Questions, Advice Needed!!!
Hello,
We're looking at implementing Samba in our PC-rooms (500 PC's).
I have set up an Samba authentication server (with 20.000 students) and
Samba server with several shares.
These questions still rise:
* A student can only have access to one computer. He should not be able
to login
on a second computer with the same account. Up till now I wasn't able
to realise

Bug#648029: xen-utils-common: /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack (and thus /usr/sbin/xm) works with bash, but not dash
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
(Grave because dash is the default /bin/sh)
With dash 0.5.5.1-7.4 as /bin/sh, /usr/sbin/xm enters an infinite loop
of reexcuting itself. When run with bash, it works correctly.
I traced that to /usr/lib/xen-common/bin/xen-toolstack; here's the
diff between "/bin/sh -x /usr/sbin/xm"

Upgrading from 2.2.1a to 2.2.5 on RH 7.2
Hey Everyone,
I am trying to upgrade to 2.2.5 from 2.2.1a and am having a
problem. When trying to install the samba-common rpm it says that I need
the file libc.so.6. I have this in 3 places:
/var/ftp/lib/libc.so.6
/lib/i686/libc.so.6
/lib/libc.so.6
Do I need to change the paths for this? Thanks for your help.

samba 207 on solaris - idiot newbie questions
Hello all.
I've decided to try using samba on our Solaris systems to give users who
are stuck with PCs on their desks access to our gis data.
I obtained a compiled binary package of version 2.0.7 from one of the
samba.org sites, and have installed SAMBAroot, SAMBAusr, SAMBAman, and
SAMBAdoc. All apparently worked just fine.
I've made a couple of changes to the smb.conf file, changing
