Xen from backports on sarge not working
Hi,
I've downloaded and installed the Xen packages from backports.org
in a box with sarge, and it doesn't work. That's the short story. Now the
long one :-)
The problem is that I can't bring up the domUs. This is the error
displayed when I try:
~# xm create -c chen.cfg
Using config file "/etc/xen/chen.cfg".
Error: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug

Xen for Sarge && amd64
I am using the "tha" Xen packages from
http://packages.debianbase.de/sarge/amd64/xen3/
However, I noticed that some new packages have been uploaded into the
NEW queue. What I am wondering is if/when/where the Sarge packages
will be made available. If there is no current plan to make them
available, I would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Debian sarge in domU
Hi
I installed xen-unstable on a debian sarge. The domain0 works good. Also
a domU with the ttylinux installed as it is described in the manual.
In a second domU I installed a sarge as it is described. This linux starts
until the crond starts:

Starting periodic command scheduler: cron.
then it takes a while an this messages appears:

AEL2
Being rather new to Asterisk I was wondering what the current status of
AEL2 is? I see reference to it back in January but that was many versions
ago. Is it in the current code?

Dial Plan rules
Does it matter if you use upper or lowercase rules - I.E. - "x" vs. "X" or
mix them? Not that I would do that as a rule but sometimes you make
mistakes!

Bug#290195: violations.d/sudo and violations.ignore.d/logcheck-sudo missing sudo log entries
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.32
Severity: normal
It seems when someone runs a sudo command on my system, logcheck misses
it.
The second line of /etc/logcheck/violations.d/sudo matches them, but
the /etc/logcheck/violations.ignore.d/logcheck-sudo kills them.
Furthermore, when users run commands like '$ sudo rm *' in a directory
with lots of files, we reports with lines like:

Local vs. toll Dial Plan
Ok asked this earlier with no response so I will phrase it a different
way. I am sure someone had to deal with this and there is a "best way."
I want to let Asterisk make the decision on best path based on local
exchange - xxx-yyy - where xxx is one of my local area codes and xxx is
exchange designator. The problem is that the list is rather large. Maybe
50-100. The idea is that I can

Problem with 1.2 and sieve: failed with unsuccessful implicit keep
Hi,
First, thanks for this awesome piece of software.
I've just upgraded to latest dovecot, aka 1.2.
I've a problem. I've started using Sieve, and everything works fine, I
already received a thousand of mails without any problem.
However, there's one mail which is stuck in the postfix queue because of
that:

DTMF feedthru again...
Ok trying this again... is there anyone using the SPA-3000 with * ????
I am not sure if this is a specific problem to it or not. This is
something I really need to fix!!!
When dialing out using * interfaced to an SPA-3000, fxs,fxo, I cannot
access (reliably) DTMF menus at the called party, after call completion.
Dialing DTMF is fine.
I checked by calling myself. Listening to either end on a

PSTN outgoing DTMF vs. transfer Problem
Recently started using * and really am having fun. One problem I
encountered...
I am using an SPA-3000 3.1.10d
When I have transfer enabled - 'T' in the dial string I cannot reliably
send DTMF keys to a bank, voicemail, or other service requiring tones. If
I disable (remove transfer option) from the dial string all is fine. I

download.file() yields incomplete files with method="internal" (PR#7991)
Summary:
When I use method="wget" with download.file(), I consistently get
a download of the entire file. When I use method="internal", I
infrequently get the entire file, but usually get only part of the file. This
behavior occurs with .cdf (a weather file format - basically binary)
from a UCAR site.
I am not sure this is a bug, since it could be some internet

Re: Re: Service resource does not turn services off on reboots
Hi,
Thanks for the help.
I do see these services coming back up if I reboot the system. They are
brought down again when puppet run for the first time. Besides, I have never
seen Puppet calling chkconfig service off even in the first run, when the
services were in a up state after the system installation. I wonder if I
missed something.
Any other idea?
thanks,

Using Asterisk/callerid with "pay as you go"
If you asked this question on the biz list you would get a lot of people
that will tell you that they offer services where you can set the caller ID
to what ever you want. To name a few::

Service resource does not seem to be disabling service on reboots
Hi folks,
The question I have is regarding to Service resource on Red Hat systems. I
have the following:
service { [ "anacron", "atd" ]:
ensure => stopped,
enable => false,
hasrestart => true,
hasstatus => true,
}
It runs fine, disabling the service while the system is up. Debugging it, I
noticed that it run the following:

Shall we release 3.0.1?
Hi everybody!
At least xen 3.0 packages seem to be working, tested, and in a pretty good
shape... (I haven't personally tested xen-unstable, so I cannot say) I propose
releasing rev150 in unstable or at least experimental in the next few days...
No, this is not a late april's fool... :D
Comments? Ideas? Suggestions? Rants?
