Common Power Management with UPS support (was: NUT-NG)
Hi fellows,
As the NUT-NG draft will take me more time than I currently have (I
found myself too optimistic since I got a baby ;-), below is the
beginning of an answer to the "Common Power Management with UPS
support" problem...
First, NUT is pure userspace code, for portability issue, and will remain.
USB is through libusb, snmp through net-snmp and serial through
standard read/write.

Joining forces with the Network UPS Tools
Hi Powermen ;-)
I recently came across the Powerman project
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/powerman/), pointed by Tony Merenda,
from Opengear (thanks Tony). Congrats for your work in this area!
I've thought a bit about Powerman and NUT since then...
NUT currently supports hosts of UPSs and few PDUs (RPCs), and provides
tons of features:

NUT Christmas mail
Dear NUT users and developers,
Like the other years, before taking a small rest, here are some news
related to NUT.
* First, you should have seen the 2.0.5-pre1 release announcement.
I don't think 2.0.5 is very far, but I realized that I've made an
archive including the .svn directory (bad, bad me. I should know that
release are made against exported svn, not checked out!)

SVN migration status
It looks like the Subversion migration is working. The CVS repository
is still there, but in read-only mode. However, the SVN repository
preserves the version history of the CVS repository, albeit organized
slightly differently.
For an introduction to Subversion, this online book is essential:

It is written by some of the Subversion authors. The only drawback I

First of all, thanks for the patch. But I have a few comments:

Common Power Management : NUT and HAL (stage 1)
Hi fellows,
I'm really pleased to announce that a first stage of NUT and HAL [1]
integration has been reached: NUT drivers (in fact, only newhidups,
tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb for the moment) can feed HAL data.
It's a "quick and dirty" hack, as a proof of concept, and there is
still lots of things to be done, both on NUT and HAL sides.
But it's a good base, and very

Disconnected: BUG internal error
Hello,
I'm seeing some messages from dovecot in my logs such as:
May 8 11:43:41 snowdrift dovecot: IMAP(username): Disconnected: BUG: Unknown internal error
I did some searching, and discovered a similar report last month, to
which there was a request for more information that didn't seem to get
followed up, so I have collected this information too.
Dovecot version: 1.0.10 (from Ubuntu

Rails + WebSVN ?
Hi,
I''m trying to have Rails and WebSVN working together with Apache and
CGI, but cant do it.
The classical way using a <Location> directive ends to a Rails 404 page.
I also tried a VHost replacing the <Location> directive with a
<Directory> directive... again it doesn''t work.
Does anyone had the same problem ?
Do you have any idea.
If it helps I installed SVN

domUs dropping off the network (Xen 3.0.2)
Hello,
We''ve recently started seeing several domUs on multiple machines losing
all network connectivity. At least one of these machines (since they are
customer machines I can''t verify it for all of them) give the error:
$ sudo ifup eth0
eth0: full queue wasn''t stopped!
About the only Google hit for this message is:

[RFC] Draft for a compositing manager specification
Resending as kwin and plasma mailinglists think that 200k is too large for a
mail. The "attachment" can be found in [2]
Hi,
Pleas note: crossposting to kwin, compiz and plasma development lists. Please
keep all lists CCed.
Attached you can find a very first draft for a compositing manager
specification. It is currently based upon the KWin/Plasma interaction

[PATCH]recent change in udev rules is not complete
Hi,
seems there is one missing change in /trunk/scripts/udev/nut-usbups.rules.in
BUS -> SUBSYSTEMS
previous change [1] missed this. Now, the latest udev started to complain:
> ... udevd[31526]: BUS= will be removed in a future udev version ...
098 udev version (from 2006) is required for this [2], but this is the same
version as required for previous SYSFS -> ATTR change.

git online viewer?
Hello,
so far I've been using the latest tarball to compile celt into a multi
platform library. gcc 4.2.1 under MacOSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is spitting
out a few warnings. I wanted to check in the latest git repository to see
if they might have already been fixed before reporting them. I would much
prefer do so without having to install a git client on my mac, that is why
I was looking for an

building module
I'd like to use the zfsacl module now in 3.2.0
(http://websvn.samba.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/branches/SAMBA_3_2_0/source/modules/vfs_zfsacl.c?rev=23856&view=log)
with 3.0.25a prebuilt on OpenSolaris.
Is this possible?
If so, will it require building Samba from source or is there a way to
use it with the pre-existing binary?
