Re: Problems compiling snmp-ups on Solaris
Hello Kim, First, I've forwarded your mail to the nut user mailing list. Thanks to register there (https://alioth.debian.org/mail/?group_id=30602) and we'll follow on the thread on it. > Terribly sorry to bother you, but I was hoping to get nut to work with > our Symmetra, which uses SNMP. nut-2.0.2 built fine on my Solaris 8 box, > but when I do "make build-snmp" it

APC AP9617 SNMP returns strange errors
Hi, we do have APC Smart-UPS each with AP9617 and latest FW. As we found out we are not able to shutdown the UPS via SNMP - neither immediately nor delayed. And we cannot set values, but we can read them correctly. So it seems as we are not able to write to the UPS and get back strange errors. root at abex:/etc/nut# upsdrvctl -DDDD shutdown apc10001 Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller

APC UPS SNMP board
I know this isn't exactly the right place to ask, but I figure at least *someone* on this list has done it once. I recently acquired an AP9617 web/snmp management board for my UPS. The web and telnet part of it work great. However, I can't get *anything* from the snmp interface. I've triple-checked the community name and access settings (currently are wide open). I've ensured

res_snmp
Hi, I have problems compiling asterisk 1.4.11 with res_snmp. I do 'make menuselect', and I see that this resource module depends on netsnmp. I am using centOS 4.5. I do: > yum install net-snmp net-snmp-devel net-snmp-utils net-snmp-libs I don't know if i am missing something. I go to the source directory and I do: ./configure but still does not work: > ... > checking for

SNMPv3 fails when more than one UPS is configured in ups.conf
New NUT install dealing with three APC Smart-UPS 5000s, two of which have AP9617 and the third has a AP9619 card. The SNMPv3 configurations on all three are exactly the same. This is confirmed by snmpget calls that work just fine: snmpget -Cf -v3 -u [...] -l authPriv -A '[...]' -X '[...]' -a MD5 -x DES [upsname] .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.1.1.1.0 snmp-ups can query all three

Compiling SVN build.. error for libupsclient
Hi, Below is a log of what I did. In summary, I think the problem lies in that I can't build libupsclient: e.g. make[1]: *** No rule to make target `libupsclient.la', needed by `upsc'. Stop. I'm not very familiar with autoconf, aclocal, automake, I tried hacking it a bit, but couldn't get it to fix the errors... Thanks, Edwin $ svn update At revision 845. $ autoreconf

Installing hplip
I need an up-to-date hplip which supports my mfp. The install fails with 'Cannot find net-snmp support' after it has reported a timeout in -lnetsnmp. What package do I need to resolve this? Makefile bug in nut-2.4.3
I'm just in the process of upgrading from nut-2.4.1 to 2.4.3 on a dual-Xeon box running Solaris 10 amd64 (i686-pc-solaris2.10). I configured as follows: ./configure --prefix=/opt/nut --with-gnu-ld --with-serial --without-usb --with-cgi --with-gd-includes=-I/usr/local/include --with-gd-libs="-L/usr/local/lib -R/usr/local/lib -lgd" --with-user=nut --with-group=nut

newbie: Slackware servers w/ AP9617, AP9606
I have a couple of Slackware servers which I have plugged into some APC UPS's. Each UPS has a network management card in it - one is the AP9617 and the other is the AP9606. I want the servers to shut themselves down when the UPS's go into "low battery" mode. What do I need to install? I've read this thread

Connectiion to UPS via SNMP
Hi NUT-Users, we work with a GE LP 33 UPS and an Advanced SNMP WEB Interface Card. This card supports the RFC1628 Definition. So I think this combination work together with NUT and the snmp-driver, correct? I installed the networkupstools on my Debian Sarge with apt-get (nut & nut-snmp). After configuration I start the upsd and upsmon. I get following output in /var/log/syslog: ... Aug 3

Problem building Perl net-snmp
Hi I'm trying to build the perl modules of net-snmp-5.4.2. Everything seems to work fine until "make test"[1]. The problem with "DynaLoader.pm" seems to be an old one. The machine is Centos 5.2 i386 I'm trying to build instead of using the one available in the repos because I'll build in other platforms and also in nagios-plugins. Thanks Marcelo [1]

using nut to monitor SNMP UPS unit
Hi all, I've been trying to build NUT (latest release source) on a pretty "standard" CentOS (RHEL style) linux box, to monitor an APC Symmetra UPS Unit which powers our server room and broadcasts information via SNMP to appropriate clients. I am having some trouble even encouraging NUT to build with snmp support, which doesn't seem to happen by default. I am curious if anyone

Issues with SNMP
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing the same issues I'm seeing here. I have recently upgraded one of my systems from 4.4 to 4.5 and ever since then I cannot get snmp to work. I am monitoring the interface traffic. Please keep in mind the firewall/router I do the same thing without any issues for 4 interfaces and it is still at 4.4 and doesn't have any issues. If I

Add general UPS SNMP agent as a nut client
Hi One idea I've had for some time, but unfortunately not had time to implement, is to add a general SNMP agent, which will work with all UPSes supported by nut. The idea is to have the SNMP agent use the "nut API" to fetch values from the UPS. So the SNMP agent will be similar to the "upsc" utility. Whenever the SNMP agent is queried for information, it will use the

Configure script not recognizing NET-SNMP
Hello. I'm trying to install NUT 2.2.0 stable. The configure script isn't recognizing my NET-SNMP installation. It exits with a "configure: error: "Net-SNMP libraries not found, required for SNMP drivers" I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit with NET-SNMP 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 and NET-SNMP daemon 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 along with libsnmp9 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 and libsnmp-base 5.2.3-4ubuntu1.

Tripplite SNMP Webcard and NUT
I've tried looking for documentation on configuring NUT for Ubuntu 12.04 over SNMP with a Tripplite UPS, but there isn't a lot of SNMP configurations tutorials out there from what I've seen. I haven't been able to get automatic shutdown to work. The driver I've been using is usbhid-ups which is generic for Tripplite, but I've reviewed several other UPS driver names and some
