Joining forces with the Network UPS Tools
Hi Powermen ;-) I recently came across the Powerman project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/powerman/), pointed by Tony Merenda, from Opengear (thanks Tony). Congrats for your work in this area! I've thought a bit about Powerman and NUT since then... NUT currently supports hosts of UPSs and few PDUs (RPCs), and provides tons of features: http://test.networkupstools.org

Adding PDU support to NUT
I've recently been working a bit on adding PDU (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_distribution_unit) support in NUT. Some of you might have seen the Powerman thread, which also deals with adding more PDUs support: http://powerman.sourceforge.net/supported.html The result is that we now have support for 2 Eaton | Powerware ePDUs (Managed and Monitored iirc, check http://www.epdu.com). I plan

Opening the 2.4 commit fest (AJAX Web UIs)
Part of the possible 2.4 addons are the new AJAX web UIs. Sebastien Volle, an Eaton colleague and friend, started to work on that subject (should be helped by Jonathan "Bass hero" Bonzy soon). The very first results are there: http://seboss38.free.fr/nut/ not much ATM, but it's more a testbed to see how we can do a first iteration. btw, try double clicking on a line to get the data

FossCamp / UDS feedback and 2.4 roadmap update
Just back from the FossCamp / Ubuntu Developer Summit, at the Googleplex. great peoples, great place, great ideas... Ubuntu Community and Canonical guys are amazing! we have had a lot of presentations and discussions, on many subjects, either upstream (like NUT itself) or the distro integration. and we've had a lot of fun too ^_^ thanks again to Canonical and Nick for inviting the

megatec driver floods syslog with "UPS lost/re-established" messages
Hello, I have bought Powerman Optima 500 Plus UPS. While this product might be unknown outside Russia, it is shipped with megatec software and obviously works with megatec driver in NUT. besides the following problems (I think they are caused by one reason): 1) megatac driver is able to load and detect UPS only on second or third run. On the first run it typically fails. Later if daemon is

Mounting VM filesystem on host while VM running
Hello, All my VMs are using LVs created on the host side. I'm using collectd to monitor some of the ressources of my host as well as the libvirt pluging to monitor my VMs. Collectd has an interesting plugin ( df ) which can monitor the filesystem usage. I would like to use it to monitor the VMs filesytsem usage. As it is obvious that if I mount the VM filesystem on the host while the

PDU support for DigiPower and Aviosys devices
Hi, I'm thinking about adding support for PDU (Power Distribution Unit) devices from Digipower [1] and Aviosys [2] to NUT via the SNMP interface. The specific devices I have in mind are the following: Digipower AMz-1623/SW-08-1 Aviosys IP Power 925x (both are 8-port PDUs which are SNMP capable via an ethernet interface) Does anybody have other DigiPower or Aviosys devices and if so

Libvirt newbie, need help with doubts
Hi, These are my doubts: 1. I tried live migration of Ubuntu 11.04 from the one physical machine to another using the migrate() function. I connected via tcp in the destination URI and migrated successfully(lesser than 2 seconds). I tried running virsh list --all on the destination PM and confirmed that the VM had been migrated successfully. When I tried checking ps aux | grep vmname where

ZFS, iSCSI + Mac OS X Tiger (globalSAN iSCSI)
I have set up an iSCSI ZFS target that seems to connect properly from the Microsoft Windows initiator in that I can see the volume in MMC Disk Management. When I shift over to Mac OS X Tiger with globalSAN iSCSI, I am able to set up the Targets with the target name shown by `iscsitadm list target` and when I actually connect or "Log On" I see that one connection exists on the Solaris
