APC SmartUPS 1500 not working for newhidups and usbhid-ups
Hi, Can't get newhidups (2.0.5) or usbhid-ups (SVN trunk) to work 2.0.5 hidups seems to work, but I was hoping for more information... like temperature, etc. Tried newhidups and usbhid-ups, but they don't seem to detect my UPS... should I switch back to serial? Will I get more information? (trying not to move back to apcupsd, since i have a mixed environment) Here is some debug

APC MeasureUPS support
I sent this to the NUT users list and no response so I thought I'd send it here next.. It's a pretty easy issue really: > Hey all, > > I have a measure-UPS card and the external cabled module. > > They're supposed to operate the same... does NUT auto detect them when using the apcsmart driver or are there config parms required? > > The the smart-slot unit is

APC smartups 1500 is broken with usbhid-ups
I'm trying to setup a server controlling 8 ups, 6 APC Smartups 1500 and two 1000. Because of the number of ups, i connected them using usb cables. I'm using Debian Etch AMD64 and nut 2.2.0 from testing (already tried 2.0 from stable, but had problems reading the ups serials and all the following problems of 2.2). This is my ups.conf: [ups2] driver = usbhid-ups port =

apcsmart and ambient data
Perhaps someone else could confirm this, I have an APC UPS with a built-in network management card with environmental sensor for temp/humidity. The OID index for the sensors appears to be .1 (the last component for each of the OIDs listed below). The original source code has them at .0 drivers/apccmib.h #define APCC_OID_IEM_TEMP ".1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.10.2.3.2.1.4.1" #define

[RFC] Support of ranges of values for writable variables
Fellows, I've had this stagging for too long: For some writable (RW) variables, that support ranges of values, ENUM and STRING are too limited and not adapted. So it's worth adding a new RANGE type, with the needed driver function (dstate_addrange()) and server / client support. Thus, I'm intending to do the following network protocol addition: * new RANGE type, for the "GET

Tripplite SmartUPS
We are configuring a server with a Tripplite SmartUPS, Web SNMP Card, and Envirosense Probe. The configuration is good using usbhid driver and we can get it to shutdown clean by producing a "power event" (pull the power cable). It is not very clear how to add or see the values associated with the external probe. We need to be able to shutdown based on the input from the probe as well as

APC SmartUPS 3000VA LCD not connecting
We recently had to replace an old APC SmartUPS 3000 with a newer 3000VA (the 2U one). It has both serial and USB in the back (with an RJ-45 on the end of the serial cable). I can't get the apcsmart driver to connect. I figured it should work the exact same as the old UPS, with /dev/ttyS0 as the port (I'm using the same port on the server that the last one was plugged into). I even

APC SmartUPS switches off with no reason
Hello One our customer has two Linux HP-branded servers powered from "clasic" APC Smart-UPS 2200 RM 2U (p/n SUA2200RMI2U). It is connected to first server via RS232c port with APC-branded cable. We have installed NUT 2.6.4 with apcsmart driver. This setup works fine for months. Two weeks ago all the hardware powered from the UPS started to switch off occasionally while on line

APC Smartups protocol - Hidden Programming Mode
Hej! Hope nut-upsuser is an appropriate place to post additional info about the smartups protocol, please tell me if not. I got an APC Smartups 2200 (5U Rack Mount, European/230V version, 48V batteries) a couple of days ago, was very happy to find the protocol description at http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/apcsmart.html, and started to play. At the point when everything was working

SmartUPS-600 problem with 940-0024C cable
Hey guys, I built my own 940-0024C cable as described here: http://www.networkupstools.org/cables/940-0024C.jpg My problem is that I can't receive anything. Sending (e.g. through minicom or my own application) works fine. Nut itself is not able to detect My UPS or anything else. <snip> [myups] driver = apcsmart port = /dev/ttyS0 cable = 940?0024C # also tested without cable option

APC SmartUPS 1500 (USB) does not report OL/OB state
Hi, I have the following system configuration (probably does not matter, but anyway): Ubuntu Linux x86 VM running under ESXi bare metal hypervisor. UPS is connected to the ESXi host, and VM communicates to the UPS using USB pass through option. Details of elaborated shutdown sequence are out of topic, so I skip them. NUT was installed from the package, I believe it is recent enough. NUT was set

APC SmartUPS 2200XL + UDEV + USB = tcgetattr : Invalid argument
I need direction. I don't know what to google for anymore. I am unable to get my SmartUPS 2200XL to be recognized. My suspicions are that it's UDEV or Kernel related. I've updated the kernel to the highest version I feel comfortable with due to other things that run on the server, and I've updated UDEV a bit too. When I plug in the USB cable from the UPS into the server, I

APC Matrix 5000 UPS
Hello, I can get nut to work with this UPS using the apcsmart driver, but only with limited functionality. It is only reporting the OL/OB status and that's about it. None of the other useful variables such as run time, load etc are reported and initiating battery tests does not work either. Has anyone managed to get nut to report more than these variables with a Matrix type UPS? I see
