Fwd: DeviceKit-power patches
I forgot to cc you guys on the future evolution of the HAL support
(it's replacement in fact, called DeviceKit)
A mailing list dedicated to DeviceKit is under creation.
If some of you are interested in, just answer back.

DeviceKit-power
My UPS Powercom WOW-1000U does greatly work with NUT, but not
auto-cofigurable...
This UPS is not usb-hid ups, and works well with this settings in NUT:
[powercom]
desc = "powercom"
driver = powercom
port = "/dev/serial/by-id/usb-POWERCOM_CO.__LTD._USB_to_Serial-if00-port0"
type = IMP

Unlike other UPSes, gnome-power-manager does

NUT-NG (was: ideas for a new UPS infrastructure)
some notes:
- for this kind of discussion, please cc upsdev list (I've added it),
- I've fwded the full thread to upsdev,
- this subject is part of what I call NUT-NG (next gen.), aka nut 3.0...
- I'll study in depth the thread this week end, and complete with my thoughts,
- thanks to Stan to have put us all in touch

Common Linux Power Management (HAL and NUT) (was: Re: ideas for a new UPS infrastructure)
Hi David and fellows,
I'm reviving this important thread about a common power management.
To sum up, the first aim is to allow a better user experience on Linux
by bridging NUT with Linux HAL, and Gnome Power Management / any PM
GUI.
But it also initiate a bigger investigation about how to integrate NUT
support for UPSs into the native OS Power Management infrastructure
for all supported

cross compling openssh-3.5p1 for ppc
Greetings:
------------ BACKGROUND --------------------------
I am using the Monta Vista development kit on an Intel RedHat Linux
platform... the target is PPC_405.
The configure utility that comes with the openssh-3.5p1 code will not
support cross compilation. It gives an error message about not being able
to test its results and then exits before it creates a Makefile. To get
around this

Feedback and help in porting the NUT sysV init script to upstart
hi there,
first, kudos to Scott. You guy rock with this revolutionizing (and so logic)
idea ;-)
next, a personal point of view about the lack of upstream adoption of
upstart:
I wanted to provide an upstart script for NUT for some time, but never found
enough matching example to do so.
the embedded scripts only address inittab, and the replacement-initscripts
are unreachable (see below) and far

Announcing Dell UPS support
Dear NUT users and contributors,
I'm pleased to announce that, with commits r2119 (USB) and r2122
(serial), the new Dell UPS offering is supported.
This means that NUT 2.6.0 will have a full Dell UPS support.
In parallel, I've submitted this week end a patch for DeviceKit-power
adding Dell USB UPS:

Cross-compile Samba 3.5.6 with STLinux 2.3 (SH4 CPU)
I need to generate a minimal Samba working in a SH4 cpu in a STLinux 2.3 environment. The goal is to have very very simple Samba server running in a STLinux environment. STLinux Kernel has included the CIFS support.
Really I'm a newbie in Samba cross-compilation. And obviously I've problems :-(
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks :-)
1) First of all I've set some env vars:

DevKitLite compiles but won't load modules or run asterisk
I'm trying to install on a 233Mz PII running RH7.1 kernel 2.4.2
The "astinstall" script pulled files from CVS ok and compiled with no
warnings. When I try to run "modprobe wcfxo" and "modprobe wcusb" I get
the following identical set of error messages:
15. Creating sample environment...SKIPPED

devkit gone?
I was considering buying a devkit, bit it looks like it's not longer
available.
Will there be a replacement devkit?
If not, where to buy a reasonable priced channel bank?
Which channel bank was included in the devkit and where can it be bought?
(btw I live in Holland)

Notepad appends ".txt" to file names it looks for
The program I'm using is 4NEC2, a freeware antenna-modelling program.
I'm running wine-0.9.61 on Gentoo Linux on a Dell with Intel Core Duo
cpu.
Let's say I'm working on a design that I call "fubar". 4NEC2 will
create files with names like "fubar.NEC" and "fubar.log". 4NEC uses
Notepad to open the files for viewing. For some reason, my system

DevKit TDM400P module won't load
Hi all,
I have just purchased the DevKit from Digium and received a X100P and a
TDM400P (it has one FXS module).
The problem is that I can't get the kernel module (wcfxs) to load and
run. I have searched the archives and can't find anything about this.
Do the messages below ring any bells with anyone ?
There is no interrupt clash (see pci list below). I am running on a AMD

I am having a really hard time getting gnophone working with asterisk.
Gnophone tries to register with my server but there is no response. I
can direct incoming calls to gnophone but if gnophone answers them,
asterisk does not recognize it. Here is my configuration:

puppet with launchd - problem with hostname
Hi,
We''re having a problem with our puppet install on our mac''s. We''ve setup a launchd plist following the instructions at:
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Puppet_With_Launchd
The problem we''re having is that when the mac initially boots, it''s hostname is fubar.local - after the networking starts up, the hostname becomes

Hi,
I've build rsync-3.0.6 on a number of legacy unix systems, and on a few

FAIL itemize
IRIX 6.5.13m:

MacOS-X 10.4:

Modified websieve for use with dovecot
In order to let users construct a sieve filter using a GUI I have taken
websieve.pl from Alain Turbide (for use with Cyrus) and modified it to
work with dovecot.
In order to get it working quickly I have removed all the code I did not
need (e.g. ldap support, password authentication) and coded Kerberos5 auth
(via GSSAPI or SASL) in. I understand that this makes the work mostly
useless to

build/test problems with rsync-3.0.0pre4
Hi,
I tried to build rsync-3.0.0pre4 on a list of different plattforms
and got some problems with build or test suite.
first, the good news: the build and tests worked fine on these plattforms
Solaris 5.5.1, 5.6 and 5.8 (sparc) and 5.10 (x86 and sparc)
SUSE Linux 9.0 (amd64), 10.1 (amd6) SLES10 (32 and 64 bit)
RedHat 7.1 and 9.0 (32 bit)
RedHat EL3 (ia64)
