nut: simplification of the automake stuff
Hallo. Here is a simplification of the automake stuff for nut 2.2.2. The idea is simple: libcommon.a contains stuff for the binaries libparseconf.la contains stuff for binaries and shared library Both are NOINST, automake understands perfectly our intentions. The rest is only a removal of the implicitly defined stuff. On top of the parallel build patch I got build success on all platforms

2.8.1 build buglet: sockdebug.c
I am (belatedly) updating pkgsrc to 2.8.1 (+ bugfix). (FWIW, I think a 2.8.1.1 or 2.8.2 immediately with the fix is in order. >From a packaging viewpoint, the effort to update for a release is about 3 minutes plus time to adapt anythhing that has changed. So I'd much rather have releases more often.) In the pkgsrc build, nut finds tcp wrappers because they are part of the base system.

some notes: - for this kind of discussion, please cc upsdev list (I've added it), - I've fwded the full thread to upsdev, - this subject is part of what I call NUT-NG (next gen.), aka nut 3.0... - I'll study in depth the thread this week end, and complete with my thoughts, - thanks to Stan to have put us all in touch Arnaud 2006/3/10, Stanislav Brabec <sbrabec@suse.cz>: >

[PATCH] Detect correct systemdsystemshutdowndir
nut hardcodes systemdsystemshutdowndir to ${libdir}/systemd/system-shutdown. This is not valid: - Executable helpers are installed to ${libexecdir}, which is different from ${libdir} on bi-arch systems. - Even if nut will use ${libexecdir}, it could be different from systemd libexecdir. That is why it is better to check systemd.pc for the correct path. That path is stored as systemdutildir.

[Nut-upsuser] Nut-2.7.3 & gcc-3.3.6
Hi Charles, Yes, it looks like my g++ does contain STL library which might be just my specific case... However, as a temporary solution I disabled nutclient in Makefile (please find the file attached). And nut-2.7.3 can be compiled now. pkgconfig fix for nut
Dear Stanislav, thanks for your patch. The problem with your "recommended" pkgconfigdir is that in many cases, it does not work. Namely, when ${prefix} is not one of the standard places such as /usr. As I understand it, the whole point of a tool like pkgconfig is to allow other software to automatically detect the install location of NUT, especially when that location is not one of

Fwd: RE New xanto driver for NUT
Dear Andreas, some googling revealed, you created a driver for the xanto series of online-usv.de. In what state it is currently? I've to manage a S2000 and would like to use nut for it, is it usable by now? Do you need another tester? TIA, Pete

adding libusb CFLAGS to generic-hid.c rule
Peter, attached is a proposed patch to fix compilation of generic-hid.c when libusb's usb.h is not in /usr/include (but the -I flag is provided by "libusb-config --cflags"). It fixes the build under OS X, where Fink installs libusb with --prefix=/sw. I changed "usb.h" to <usb.h> so that 'make depend' wouldn't generate a dependency on 'usb.h' with

Problem with APC and Fedora 8 I86_64
I have been trying to get Nut working on a system with Fedora 8 i86_64 installed and an APC Smart-UPS USB. The 2.2.0 rpm does not seem to like the USB on this UPS. I have tried compiling the 2.2.2 version, from source, but am getting warnings. I have tried building it on my i386 system (f8 as well) and I get no warnings also the 2.2.0 works fine on that one with a TrippLite Omni 900 LCD via

[LLVMdev] probleam about ThreadLocalImpl of llvm
Hi, everyone: I am very sorry to trouble you, but I need your help about my problem about ThreadLocalImpl in llvm of 2.8 version. I have compiled it in Windows xp with mingw, and have compiled skyeye(an open source project about simulator) as it uses llvm. But when I run a testcase ---- arm_hello, it came out segment fault. I used gdb.exe to trace it, it gave the following infomation: $

2.8.1 build buglet: sockdebug.c
Thanks, I think it would not hurt to add the variables into the source if that helps? A bit puzzled why it wants TCP wrappers though, the program is primarily about the Unix socket access. It can be used by end-users or more likely by developers for troubleshooting; potentially for some automations that act like a NUT driver. Not intended as a prime-time mechanism, but could have its uses... As
