Fwd: AQuA Meter – waveform analysis to get continous MOS scores for your network
Hi,
Although this is a repost from Asterisk biz, we would like to ask if
somebody may help us to develop a native Asterisk module using AQuA
technology for voice quality monitoring using the same web service AQuA
Meter is using.
Thanks,

RTA, jitter, MOS et al over the internet
I have been in the process of trying to troubleshoot a phone system that is
doing IAX trunking to a provider. The average RTA is 75ms with spikes from
time to time and jitter from time to time as well. My question is this; How
much can one trust this types of samples when going over the internet? I
mean who knows who is doing what kind of ICMP rate limiting or dropping ICMP
all together? What is a

MOS-test using package vegan
Dear all,
I am using MOStest in vegan to examine the hump-shaped of
a quadratic regression model.
In the manual of vegan, it mentions that the value of MOStest include
isHump.
My result showed the quadratic regression is hump-shaped according to the
p-value (nearly 0).
However, the value isHump did not show up.
Please kindly help where to find isHump.
Further, I do not understand the result of

Calculating R Factor and MOS metrics for VoIP
Hello All,
MOS and R factor are the two QoS parameters used to estimate VoIP call
quality.
I have found that they are calculated from other metrics like jitter,
latency, packet loss,...etc. But, haven't found any formula or arithmetic
rule to calculate them.
Do you have an idea about their formulas or an open source that calculates
them. Is it possible to interpret them from wireshark.

Extract a MOS value from Asterisk CDR
Hello all,
I'm tring to retrieve a formula to calculate a MOS value from Asterisk RTCP
stats...
Have you got any idea how to do it?
Thanks
I'm reading all G.107 ITU docs to retrieve something...
I'm saving the SIP RTCP stats with:
[macro-hangupcall]
exten => s,1,Set(CDR(userfield)=${CHANNEL(rtpqos|audio|all)})
exten => s,n,ResetCDR(vw)
exten => s,n,NoCDR()
So I retrieve

MOS Scores and LCR
Is there any tool that can do LCR for Asterisk but also take into
account MOS scores?
Is it possible to automatically generate MOS scores on random "calls"
so as to keep an updated database on a per provider, per destination,
per time-of-day score? Hopefully, with that information we can create
a better LCR module or script?
Thanks,
Daniel

PESQ calculated MoS-Values for Speex
OK. Different mailing lists are set up differently. This list is unusual because your answers only go to the person who replied to you. So if you want the other people on the listserv to see your answer, you should make sure that Speex-dev at xiph.org<mailto:Speex-dev at xiph.org> is added to the TO: field of your outgoing message. Hopefully someone else will also attempt to answer your

The ZFS MOS and how DNODES are stored
ZFS documentation lists snapshot limits on any single file system in a pool at 2**48 snaps, and that seems to logically imply that a snap on a file system does not require an update to the pool?s currently active uberblock. That is to say, that if we take a snapshot of a file system in a pool, and then make any changes to that file system, the copy on write behavior induced by the changes will

PESQ calculated MoS-Values for Speex
Hello,
I just signed up to this mailing-list (note: my first mailing list at all),
because I'm having some problems related to speex.
Let me just introduce you to what I'm doing.
I am writing a short (really short) paper about VoIP techniques, especially
audio codecs for speech.
I pointed out basic technologies behind audio codecs; vector quantization,
lpc, long-term prediction and some

[Weft QDA users] Hello all
Hi, my name is Leandro and im Argentinian. I plan to build a web CMS
on ruby on rails, to provide CAQDAS functionality, and since im
building the site in Ruby on Rails and open source, i want to know if
Weft QDA engine is open source. If so, id would come in handy to be
able to reuse/improve an existing ruby based CAQDAS.
I''d like to emphasize the fact that i dont mean to profit from it,

Generic UPS driver
Hi, I just bought a cheap UPS and apparently I'm hitting the same issue
that's described here:
http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.monitoring.nut.user/6146
Mine is a different brand: "Kanji" which appears to be the argentinian
dealler for some generic chinese manufacturer. My model is also 800VA
and identified in the same way, so maybe is the same UPS under a
different brand:

abusing nut ups to do temperature shutdown WHILE monitoring UPS'es
Hi
I am thinking about using the existing NUT software to tell the slave
servers
to shutdown if the temperature in the server room becomes too high.
I was thinking of monitoring the temperature on the master NUT server
and
then just letting the slave clients shut down. But the slaves (and
master
server) needs to do a complete power off even though the UPS's does
get 220v power all the

Linux migration document.
Hi all,
If you're looking at a Windows server to Linux & Samba migration
(and let's face it, who isn't nowadays :-), the EU (god bless their little
cotton socks :-) has published a wonderful migration how-to document here :

Cheers,
Jeremy.

Which Linux best suits Samba3?
In a discussion with one of the main answer people, of whose time I am
greatly appreciative, it was suggested that some of my problem (or
solution) may be to run Samba on a distro that's better suited for it.
Problem is, I don't have the time nor the inclination to download a
bunch of distros just to install, test, fdisk, repeat.
So I ask. what is a recommended recent distro that works

Important regression in usbhid-ups (r1113)
while finishing some work on the HAL integration (I'm now mapping DBus
method with NUT commands, to allow at least the final UPS poweroff), I
was horrified to realize (and so late) the changes in
usbhid-ups->upsdrv_shutdown().
We've lost a lot there, but making a generic code, instead of keeping
the subdrivers delegation.
For example, the shutdown.return command (which is or should be

Maybe I'm getting old, but I wish Gmane hadn't gone with such an unreadable layout for their blog format. (Not your fault, I'm just venting. I suppose I
