PowerWalker and megatec_usb
Hi! I've (finally) decided to try and make my PowerWalker work with megatec_usb. So far it seems the agiler subdriver is the way to go, but it doesn't work. The initial detection process sometimes succeeds in 1 out of 5 "Q1" commands, but that's about it (which is better than what the krauler subdriver can do... absolutely nothing). So, what needs to be done to obtain more

megatec over USB - new driver patch
Hello, all. Some time ago I bought myself a UPS which was advertised as USB-HID. It was a surprise to learn that while it definitely is recognized as USB device, the HID descriptor has no UPS pages at all. The only software it came with was a windows program written in visual basic. Trying to research this topic I found a reference to energizer USB ups driver and learned about variety of

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r801 - in branches/megatec-usb: . drivers
Hi Alexander, thanks for your good work on the megatec_usb driver. I have made a few more (cosmetic) changes. Is the driver now working stably for your device? In particular, do the instant commands (and particularly "upsdrvctl -k") work properly? In this case, we could hopefully mark the device as "supported" and merge the driver to the main branch. There is still the

Is this really needed/desirable? I think this kind of information needs to be put in the AUTHORS document. There are many more people on this list that put a lot of effort in NUT, without claiming credit

energizerups == megatec_usb -x subdriver=agiler?
Looking for ioctl() calls in the drivers, I noticed that the energizerups.c code looks a lot like a megatec protocol over a USB connection. It uses 8 bytes per packet, which makes it look like the agiler subdriver in megatec_usb. Do we know if there are people that use this driver now and that might be able to verify this? Can't select phoenix as subdriver in megatec_usb
Hello, I'm working on getting nut using a Powermust Office 650 USB USV. Using today's trunk megatec_usb detects its vendorid 0665 productid 5161 but uses the agiler driver for it which apparently does not work (timeout...). I think this device is using that USB-to-serial chip but a different protocol behind. I got the phoenix subdriver working with the device but I had to extend

megatec_usb and "fry's" UPS
Gidday all - I've got a 1700VA dynamix UPS which is USB. The previous model (with a serial port) worked wonderfully with megatec, but this new one with USB is not working. It feels like the kernel is not handing the USB device properly. The web has not yeilded any useful info. What can I do from here? =========================================== [root at hera ups]# lsusb Bus 006 Device 002:

Bogus "UPS not available" messages
Belkin F6C1200-UNV on Ubuntu 7.04, megatec_usb driver, Every few minutes I get a beep and a "UPS not available" message that seems to be bogus; upsc reports real data, not at complaint that it's stale. Is there some timeout I need to lengthen? Also, shouldn't upsc report the poll time associated with the data it displays? -- >>esr>>

Reserve '_' in driver names?
I'm trying to see if we can make upsd autodetect the driver sockets from the STATEPATH. This works quite well and uses surprisingly little code (much less than parsing the 'ups.conf' file). However, since I can no longer read the name from the 'ups.conf' file, I need to extract this from the name of the socket. We might simply strip the drivername from the socket name again,

energizerups and bestups -> megatec?
Hi! I don't know how I missed it before, but "bestups" seems to implement mostly the same protocol as megatec. Is anybody out there using this driver willing to try "megatec" to see if it works? AFAIK, the only difference seems to be the command that gets the UPS identification data ("I" on "megatec", "ID" on "bestups"), but
