Megatec and Batteries
Hi to all,
I am new on the lists but using nut on megatec for last two and half years.
Looking at archives I saw that there is a lot of people confused about battery voltage and I want to help them to clear out some stuff in their heads.
This story is based on my experience with UPS devices from 600VA to 20kVA, from single phase systems to three phase systems, with battery packs from 1

Megatec - modem control lines
Carlos,
Today I was browsing through the NUT Tracker and noticed an entry which
linked to a message on nut-upsdev:
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2006-January/000559.html
Although the fentonups driver is no longer in the tree (since it was
replaced by the megatec driver), I think there is still some merit in
this patch. Notice the following lines from this message:

RE Socomec ups protocl
Hi Saulius,
The spec you sent me is simply a Megatec excerpt:
http://www.networkupstools.org/protocols/megatec.html
So Socomec is simply a megatec rebranding (selling by simply putting its
name on).
As per the NUT compatibility list
(http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html),
Sicon are supported by the powercom driver.
But since it's a megatec unit, you should preferably try the

Question on support for Upsonic Commercial UPS CXR 2000 - 2000VA/1200W - Rack/Tower on Freebsd 9.1.
Thx Charles,
So since this is a new type of UPSonic UPS, do you think
the vendor screwed up or is it just some quirk on Freebsd?
Yes, if you can look into this I would appreciate it.
I do not see anyone else on the Web attempting to use
this new device yet.....but.......
Regards
