Re: preview of NUT CGI enhancements
[fwded to upsdev]

I still have to adapt the cgi path in the html files according
to the configure options... But I don't know yet how I'll do it!
If you have an idea! We have to extract the cgi root from the
--with-cgipath option, ie having configured nut with:
--with-cgipath=/usr/lib/cgi-bin/nut

Problem with roaming profiles (always synced but never read)
Hi,
I come to find new ideas about a problem which is blocking me since many
days....
I've an AD DC on Samba 4.1.11, and a file server (on Samba 4.1.11 too)
member of the domain. They works fine (apparently).
I've a Win7 Enterprise x64 client, joined to the domain.
I've created a new user 'foo' to test openning session.
When I log for the first time, my user get a local

Client shutdown options?..
Greetings:
I have what might be an oddball question.
Is there any way to configure the times at which clients initiate their
shutdown sequences? I have a domain controller in my setup that I would
have shut down if the UPS have been on backup for any more than a minute,
whereas the rest of the servers I would shut down on a low battery
condition.
I also have a use for such flexibility in our

Your post on Samba mailing list
Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I am printing from linux
to a printer attached to a win98 computer. When I say text I mean when I
send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC
<file.txt>'. When I say 'hang' what I mean is that the printer prints all
the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off
line. When I push

Good day,
I've got a question regarding the usage of rsync that I just cannot
figure out. I've done a fare hunt for the answer, but I'm stumped.
Here is the situation.
I have two pc's running linux and using rsync to perform a backup from
server1 to server2. For example: rsync -avzr -e 'ssh
-i/root/.ssh/id_rsa' --delete /home/samba/admin/software

Treat files that were modified locally and remote
Hi - is there a clever way to identify files that have been change on
the local _and_ the remote location? Without such a check it may
happen, that changes are lost without even noticing.
One way to identify such files would be to do a dry-run upsync, then a
dry-run downsync, find files that would have been sync'ed in both dry-
runs, and then prompt the user for some action.

Accounts/Passwords How does it work?
I am getting very lost.
I have a bunch of existing linux users.
I want them to also be able to use the samba shares.. How do I easily
get there usernames/passwords for access via samba?
I have the following set;
encrypt passwords = yes
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
unix password sync = Yes
At present I manually add each one with smbadduser,
But that prompts me for their

rsync is skipping some files, permission problem
Hello!
Happy New Year!
I came across a small problem a few minutes ago while I was comparing a
sync'ed folder to its source, the home-directory of my user,
"administrator".
I noticed that not all files had been copied and I recognized that the
missing
files/folders have permission rwx------ or drwx------ and are owned by
administrator.
My rsync script being run using sudo and I

small error in regression tests
I just r-sync'ed the r-devel version of R-1.7.0 (2003-03-11), compiled it
under RH-8.0 and ran make check. The reg-tests-2 fails at the very end
with the message stating that "object cement was not found". It looks like
this piece of the regression test is new to version 1.7. The the piece of
code generating the error is:

Trouble transferring referents of symlinks outside the source tree
I'm running rsync 2.5.5 on a FreeBSD-CURRENT system.
I have a directory that essentially is my web site, which I update when
need be. I am (trying) to use rsync to sync a remote server with my
changes whenever they are made.
I'm using a little script to do this:
#!/bin/sh
DATA_DIR=/home/munish/data/www
REMOTE_BACKUP=[snipped out user@host here]
RSYNC_FLAGS="-zapuLxSC --stats

Rsync under cygwin
Hi,
I have rsync client and servers running under 3 Win2K boxes, and I can
sync when the source is remote and the target is local, but when the
source is local and the target is remote, I get the following error:

Opening the 2.4 commit fest
fellows,
You can now commit to the trunk everything that is scheduled for 2.4
For my part, the november month will be mostly dedicated to the following:
- commit the USB "improved maintenance" code. I'm about to finish that
one, which allows to extract USB info and generate the various USB
related files (hotplug, udev and hal). so the end of that bothering
era ^_^

Logwatch - malformed password entry(uid not number)
Hi All,
I've the following in the logs and am wondering why they are there.
I also keep getting emails from SAMBA log-deamon (or something like that).
[2003/05/19 15:24:29, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:getsmbfilepwent(364)
getsmbfilepwent: malformed password entry (uid not number)
It's not really serious (at least to me) but it's a cause for concern. Below
are the details
