Preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release
Hi there,
I'm preparing the 2.0.3-pre2 release.
I've decided, as an exception (the second with the ones for 2.0.2,
but hey, nut has a lot of late to resorb) to merge the USB
improvements from the CVS Development branch.
That means that the updated newhidups, as well as tripplite_usb
and bcmxcp_usb if these are fine.
To Charles and Wolfgang: any comments, objections, last things

recent and planned changes
* I committed into CVS the gendb patch that I sent to the mailing list
on September 12. Arnaud, I hope you approve of this patch; it is
more reliable than the previous method in tracking the correct
dependencies.
* This, together with some other minor recent changes on the
Development branch, is between the "before_PSE_3" and "after_PSE_3"
tags. Arnaud: if you

NUT and Automake
Dear NUT developers,
I have converted NUT's build system to Automake/Libtool. Right now,
the new build system is contained in the "automake" branch, at:
ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/nut/branches/automake
I plan to merge this into the main branch after a period of testing,
if there are no objections.
Here are some highlights:
* automatic dependency tracking: no more need to do this

gcc4 compiler warnings
Hi all!
The following files emits warnings when compiled with gcc 4.0:
al175.c
bcmxcp_ser.c
belkinunv.c
cyberpower.c
everups.c
powercom.c
solis.c
All warnings seem to be of this variety:
everups.c:38: warning: pointer targets in passing argument 2 of 'ser_get_char' differ in signedness
I suggest that those who fiddles with those drivers fixes the warnings
and verifies that it works

newhidups: merged regex changes
I have gone ahead and merged the regex_branch with the main
Development branch.
Reason: recent renaming of files and moving around of code leads to
conflicts between the branches that will be increasingly difficult to
resolve. It is easier to merge now while the two branches are still
relatively similar and most edits non-overlapping.
The merge is between tags before_PSE_6 and after_PSE_6 on

How to disconnect to a database????
Hi,
We have experienced some problems with
ActiveRecord::Base class of Ruby-Rails. We are
building a web-application based on the Ruby-rails
framework and the web-application needs to access to
difference databases, so we do not pre-define our
database accesses in the database.yml file. In fact,
we are using the
ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection() to connect
to our database, the function

Tripp Lite SMART2200RMXL2U and Fedora Core 6 (NUT 2.0.3)?
Hi,
I'm running Fedora Core 6 and need to monitor a Tripp Lite
SMART2200RMXL2U. I've loaded the nut-2.0.3-2.1 RPM.
The UPS is connected via the provided USB cable,
and that much appears to work:
# dmesg | grep -i tripp
hiddev96: USB HID v1.10 Device [Tripp Lite TRIPP LITE SMART2200RMXL2U ] on usb-0000:00:1f.4-2
# lspci | grep -i usb

Tripplite Smart Int 1000 - wrong numbers
Hello,
I've got Tripplite Smart Int 1000 UPS with lan4.1 serial interface.
Quite sympathetic UPS, I must say from first glance. I have made a
proper serial cable (btw i hate all those constructor's decisions to
make distinct serial wiring for each and every UPS type from each and
every manufacturer!)
I use [tripplite] driver for NUT and I can use upsc to get report from
UPS, but

I still have the unit in question; however, since the segfault
happened inside libc, I won't be able

TRIPPLITE OMNIVSINT80 Compatibility
Using this UPS in the UK on 240V mains.
Connected via USB:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 09ae:0001 Tripp Lite
Requires tripplite_usb driver as it is (Product ID: 0001). There is an
entry in the compatibity list for OMNIVS800 USB (protocol 2012) using
usbhid-ups which is little misleading (although I guess maybe correct
for some instances of the UPS).
OMNIVS1000 USB (older; product ID: 0001) is

tripplite_usb/nut-2.2.1: Driver not connected.
Hi,
I'm using nut 2.2.1 on Ubuntu Hardy. Everything is fine, upsc works, upsmon is
working. Then, after twenty minutes or an hour or maybe even longer, it all
breaks down and I see these messages in the log:
May 22 13:39:04 logicserver upsmon[28319]: Poll UPS [tripplite at localhost] failed - Driver not connected
Restarting upsd fixes the problem temporarily.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

tripp lite smart2200RMXL2U error reading protocol
I'm working on a gentoo server with Nut 2.0.5-r1 and libusb-0.1.12.
I originally tried the hidups driver which seemed to work, but produced
a large amount of unhandled events. Then I tried the newhidups which
told me my ups wasn't supported. When I try using
tripplite_usb -u root -DDDD /proc/bus/usb/002/002
I get that there isn't a match. But when I try using
tripplite_usb -DDDD

tripplite_usb and Omni1000
As I understand it from looking through the archives of this mailing
list and the source for the driver, tripplite_usb should work for this
device. I tried to go through the source as best I could to see if I
could add support myself, but got a bit lost.
Anyhow, here's hoping that someone has some experience with this model.
My system is using the latest CVS checkout of the Development branch
