indeed, it appears it tries to mount local file systems BEFORE drbd is
started. because /data isn't mounted, backuppc can't start either.
so do I have to edit the chkconfig priorities in /etc/init.d and
recreate the rc3.d S** and K** scripts so drbd starts earlier? ugh.

afaik, this has nothing to do with the drbd slave. I reboot the
master, replication resumes just fine, but the /data filesystem doesn't
get automounted til I manually mount it.

sparc quota bug
Hi,
I am getting the following error:

How to reproduce:
Try to delete or move a mail to another folder. The mail actually gets
copied to the other folder but the original isn't removed (when using
webmail). If using thunderbird this ends up in an infinite loop creating

Session Data Question
I am still to new to rails to feel comfortable diving into the source
for the framework however my comfort is getting better. My question
is this. We are storing the session data in the database using
active_record_store. I was looking at the table to just get a better
idea of what is going on as far as how the data is stored. I am a bit
curious as to the session.data field. What method

weird network error
a previously rock solid reliable server of mine crashed last night, the
server was still running but eth0, a Intel 82574L using the e1000e
driver, went down. The server has a Supermicro X8DTE-F (dual Xeon
X5650, yada yada). server is a drbd master, so that was the first
thing to notice network issues. Just a couple days ago I ran yum
update to the latest, I do this about once a month.

Chris is correct at the coarse granularity, but there are some trades to be made at the fine. There is some interesting work from MIT in the context of image processing kernels related to the relative costs of saving intermediates out to cache or DRAM vs recomputing them

Bounding ellipse for any set of points
After a lot of effort I developed the following function to compute the
bounding ellipse (also known a as minimum volume enclosing ellipsoid) for
any set of points. This script is limited to two dimensions, but I believe
with minor modification the algorithm should work for 3 or more dimensions.
It seems to work well (although I don't know if can be optimized to run
   faster) and

Incorrect battery status on MGE Pulsar M 3000
Hello!
We have two upses: MGE Pulsar M 3000 and MGE Pulsar EXtreme 3200C. They
connect to server by USB. EXtreme works good with usbhid-ups (nut 2.2.1) and
newhidups (nut 2.0.5). But Pulsar M doesn't want to work with usbhid-ups.
- my ups.conf:

dbench strange results
Hi
I'm building new samba server (on Debian 6.0, software RAID10 2TB, Xeon
CPU). Generally everything is working fine, so I have decided to run
some stress tests. My choice was dbench. Old server is Debian 4.0 (samba
3.0.24, Athlon 3000+, one ATA 160GB disk). So run
dbench 16
on both old and new server
The results are strange
