Setting MGE powershare attributes
Hi!
We have two MGE Evolution 1100 here, and I want to make use of the
powershare outlets to force a particular boot sequence on the machines
powered by them. However I'm not sure how to set those variables upon
NUT starting, without having to change the init scripts to call
"upsrw".
Is there some place where I can set them, where they can be read
automatically on startup?

MGE ellipse 1200 config and documentation
Hi,
I have recently purchased MGE ellipse 1200 UPS for my home system. Obviously,
the choice of this particular brand was mainly dictated by MGE's
long-standing support for Linux and NUT project. The fact that the box was
clearly the prettiest looking one on the block did help also ;-). I have had
NUT tools installed and configured in no time, as I did it numerous times
before -- kudos

MGE NMC and NutShutdownModule (and other stuff)
Hi all,
some time ago I bought at discount price a NMC for managing a few
computers using the programmable outlets features available on my MGE
Evolution, unuseful otherwise (ATM). However, expecially for my server
machine, I don't like very much the NSM client provided by MGE/Eaton and
I'd rather use only NUT from my distribution. So, looking at the
netxml-ups driver, I started adding

Differences between newhidups (MGE tables) in 2.0.4 and svn trunk
I was looking at how other drivers deal with outlet collections, and I
noticed some differences between newhidups in 2.0.4 (from Debian's
2.0.4-2.3) and the SVN trunk (rev 723) on an Evolution. Full diff is
below, but here are the highlights:
* MGE HID 0.9 vs 1.0
* outlet.#.switch seems to have moved to the commands outlet.#.load.{on,off}
Then I found this in the ChangeLog:

Differences between USB and serial on an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000
Hi,
I've been using NUT for many years to look after the UPS on my home
servers. Originally I was using a Compaq R3000 but that was replaced
with an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000 about a couple of years ago because
the Compaq one was just too noisy!
I'm just setting up a replacement server and would like to connect it
using a serial cable as I've found that the USB connection

NUT-2.0.3 - problems on setting values
Hello,
we have a MGE Pulsar Evolution 800 connected to a Fedora Core5 Server
using a serial cable.
Installed and configured properly are RPM versions of
nut-2.0.3-0.1.fc5
nut-client-2.0.3-0.1.fc5
nut-cgi-2.0.3-0.1.fc5
which all work (mostly) fine.
The server is connected to outlet.0 and properly shuts down when it's
loosing power after around 20 minutes. It also boots up whenever the ups

bcmxcp - patch for power cycling individual outlets/load segments
Also works if you want to shutdown one segment/outlet early in the power
failure. It should stay off until utility power returns and then apply
the configured delay - although I haven't tested this aspect.

Controlling Outlets on UPS
I have a Tripp Lite UPS and I have a configuration switch on one load and
the PC plugged into the other load of the UPS is there any way to control
the outlets of the UPS using NUT to allow the load the Switch is one to
turn on before the PC load? I keep playing around with cloner drivers but
they don't seem to be registering in the UPS

RailsConf vs. My MacBook's Battery. ( Power Outlet Availability )
So my Macbook''s battery sucks... and I''m thinking of grabbing a new
one, I''m curious how the availability of power outlets have been at
RailsConfs. For those who have gone before, was it hard to find an
outlet to plug into? Are they mindful of this?
I hope so.
Thanks in advance.

Various NUT issues/questions
Hi,
FINALLY got my UPS working, YEA!!!! But now it brings
up even more issues.. (BOOO!!)
1) I'm thinking this is a UPS issue, but when I pull the plug
on my UPS, it goes from 100 to 30 in just a short amount of
time (Minutes). This causes the machine to shut down. But once
it gets to 0, its beeped its little heart out for a few more
HOURS providing power to the non-system items perfectly.

Dynamic HID driver mappings, Tripplite-hid.c
I think I'm going to have the slightly rejigger the tripplite-hid.c
driver to 'properly' support all of the data I know about it's
outlets.
A given UPS may have 'n' output loads. I could have 5, I could have
10, I won't know until I actually ask the UPS. But in order to use
the hid to nut struct, I'm actually going to have to modify that
struct dynamically, or

recording current_user
Hi,
Another noob here I am afraid! I have a questuin about the current_user
method that comes with AAA.
I have AAA set up and working fine and if i put <%=
self.current_user.login %> into a view it shows the login name as
expected on the page.
What I cant work out is how to record this into the database when the
user completes a form.
My app so far only has two models.

NUT MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium 800: Changed NUT rw variables?
Hello all,
I've got an MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium 800 powering a couple of FreeBSD
systems. Driver used is mge-shut, I don't know what the new mge-shut
driver offers, but I follow the "if it works, don't fix it" dogma here. :)
I also had a nut server installed on the master, with the
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut script slightly modified to include a couple of
upsrw commands

mge-shut doesn't use lowbatt parameter
Hello nuters,
FreeBSD, Ellipse USBS 800, serial line, nut 2.02 everything works fine.
But I'm only able to get an automatic shutdown when reaching the
built-in 30% level. I the "lowbatt parameter" is set to anything,
it's simply ignored.
This is a problem as I want to shutdown around 90% to avoid the
battery to drain out when multiple shutdowns occur.
Any idea ?
