Hello, It is 3 or 4 weeks ago since, i want to set communication with my ups a MGE NOVA 1100 AVR. Dear Arnaud, Now I started to write a driver that simulates continous power breaks. (E.g. in every 30 minutes.) This could be used for testing of setup of client upsmons. I have to simulate a behaviour of a real UPS. The physical model contains an extra attribute: the charging current that needed to compute recharge time and actual battery charge during the recharge process. Can we call this

ext3 filesystem corruption
Hi, I've been experiencing intermittent filesystem corruption on a Compaq Armada M700 laptop w/ IBM Travelstar 30GB drives (both the 40GN and 30GN models). This happens mostly under RH 7.2, w/ ext3 filesystems, but I think it's also happened under win98. All seems fine until power-down, power-up, and boot, where the corruption is discovered. Searching these archives, I found that there

SIP 603 Declined error message
I have a SIP trunk from my Asterisk server to an Avaya CM server. If I place calls inbound, everything works fine. If I place calls outbound, originating from the Asterisk box, everything works fine (I have done this with the use of the .call files). If I setup an extension with the findme-followme feature and have it try to hair-pin a call back out the same trunk to the Avaya, I get a

mge-shut don't reboot ups by default
Hi I have Pulsar 1000 (MGE) and mge-shut 2.0.5-3. By default mge-shut don;t reboot ups after upsmoc -c fsd, only permanent powerdown. After I add ondelay=30 in config, all nice, ups restarted after 10 sec. But according man mge-shut ondelay measured in tens of seconds and by default equal 3. -- Olleg Samoylov

the wandering MAC?
Hi all, I have what appears to be a truly puzzling problem. I've got this P4 32-bit machine running CentOS 5.5 with XEN that has two NICs: one onboard, an Intel Corporation 82540EM Gigabit and one on an expansion card, Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit. The second one is recognized as eth1. What's happening is, it is showing up under one of the two MAC's: either

powercom UPS shoutdown discussion
Thank you for your response. The point is that I have configured my system to shut down at the event "upsc Inform@localhost ups.status"!="OL", not at "LB". So there will be no /etc/killpower file created. At an ups.status != "OL" event, the following script named "notifyme" is run: echo `date` >> /root/upsLog echo " No power, shutting

Q about UPS features / NUT support
Hi, I have several Linux machines at home and I'm considering buying a UPS for them. I see that many models are supported by NUT (great!) but since I'm new to the UPS world I have some questions about UPS features and NUT support of them I couldn't find an answer for: 1/ are there UPS models who report/meter power usage through USB? per UPS socket or globally? 2/ are there UPS models

powerdown problem on XEN
Hi guys, I have a problem with powering down my system under the XEN hypervisor. System details are as follows: gentoo linux, X86_64 XEN version 4.2.2 linux hardened kernel 3.9.5 as dom0 Xeon E3 1260L processor (vt-d capable) 32GB ECC RAM which has been thoroughly tested - so should be o.k. when I issue "shutdown -h now" from dom0 the system usually reboots instead of turning off

Looking for a prepaid calling card platform
I'm looking for a prepaid calling card platform that: * easily scales to multiple servers with a common database for: redundancy, capacity, and performance Looking to start with capacity to handle 100 simultaneous calls and be able to easily scale to 1000+ simultaneous calls. * in addition to the normal anti-fraud measures, supports an API for easily adding new anti-fraud tests along the

R on Mobile Devices (Android)
Hell R-list, At the cost of sounding far-fetched and almost incredulous, I would like to know if any R user is remotely considering the use of R on Mobile devices, and Android in particular. I really do not have an idea of the kind of definite incentives in terms of using R on Android, but having an analytical engine on a mobile phone would allow for micro statistics to be collected from the log

Disable Kernel Screen Blanker
Hey Y'all, I'm trying to turn off the kernel screen blanker that shuts off the video after about 10 minutes of inactivity at the keyboard. After extensive googling I've found two ways to *NOT* do it. In my home .xinitrc setterm -blank 0 -powersave off -powerdown 0 xset s off In /etc/rc.local /usr/bin/setterm -powersave off -blank 0 I've tried both to no effect. Of course

(Fwd) Re: Slightly OT: Generators & UPS
Hi, I'm the original poster on the subject. Thanks for all the replies. A few more points. The generator outputs 7kw @ 220V. The total PC's supplied is about 9. I estimate power consumption to be 9 x 300w=2700w 4 halogens @ 400w each=1600w 10 Compact Flourescents @ 11w =110w Therefore total power=4410w Which leaves me with spare capacity of about 2590w (in theory). I think its

'non-standard' folder names in R package
Hi list, I use a .xml file for a function's demo in the R package I'm creating. Since it doesn't belong to any of the 'standard' folders, i.e. those mentioned in the 'Writing R Extension', I put it in a folder call "myXML", much like the 'iris.xl' file in 'xls' folder from 'gdata' package, for example. After running R CMD build,

[PATCH] [RFC] drm/nouveau: bring back hdmi audio device after switcheroo power down
After a full device powerdown via the optimus power switch, we seem to lose the HDMI device completely on power on, this keep track of whether we had a hdmi audio sub function device at power on, and pokes a magic register to make it reappear after the optimus power switch is thrown. This at least works on my NVC4 machine, probably needs testing on a few other laptops with other nvidia GPUs.
