How to obtain SIPCHANINFO variables within custom application?
Hello,
How can I get peerip, recvip, from, uri, useragent, peername, t38passthrough
variables in (within) my custom Asterisk application?
I can't use chan_sip.c internal structures (such as sip_pvt) in my custom
application, because there's no chan_sip.h and I can't include it into my
application (maybe there's other way?).
I can do like this:

Capture Media IP in CDR
I am not proxying the media, but never the less I am forced to store
the source media IP in my CDR, for regulatory reasons. Asterisk gets
that information when the reinvite comes, but how do I store it?
If I don't figure this out my next email will be from Federal Prison.
Kindly help me stay away from those guys. Eventually we all need to
save that information or we shall not be able to stay

Asterisk 13. Writing call quality parameters to CDR. How?
Hello.
Voice quality when calling - this is one of the most important in the PBX.
You need to record the quality parameters for each call to improve.
Because the overall quality of a call can only be determined upon
completion, I did it in the HangUp handler and wrote in custom fields of
CDR.
This worked well in asterisk 11.
In asterisk 13 I did not find a handler after the call, but before

SIP Peer Name Variable
Hi,
Is there a variable that contains the Sip Peer name?
I was using ${CALLERID(num)} for outgoing calls, but when a call is being transferred, that variable contains something else.
I need a variable that is always set to the SIP Peer's name.
Thanks
Dan

Howto get origin IP address from SIP call reliably
Hi,
incoming SIP calls have a channel name in the form of:
SIP/<ip-adresss-of-peer>-<handle>
This is a way to get fetch the IP address of the remote side
of a SIP call - in most cases.
However, sometimes, instead of the IP address, there is a host
name in the channel name. I assume, this value in the channel name
is not the real IP address, but just a field filled in by the
remote

Calls drop after 20 seconds
Hi all,
This issue is giving me a lot of grief with my customers. I have 5
asterisk servers running in production, each one with almost 70
simultaneous calls at peak hour. Most of my customers complain that
their calls drop after 20 seconds or so.
After running through my cdr's, I see that the number of 20 second
calls is MUCH larger than any other number. (see below)

agi debug in Asterisk 1.6?
Much to my surprise I tried to debug an AGI script today with "agi
debug" on the Asterisk CLI and it did not work. Plus, I could find no
reference on lie of it being removed.
Is there another name for that command? I scanned the CLI help but
found nothing similar. Both my 1.6 boxes do not have the command but
my 1.4 box does.
Thanks!

Anyone running caller id spoofing applications in the USA running

Then it's time to move them to Canada or similar.

How to tell if asterisk is handling media or not?
I'm trying to get my asterisk server to reinvite. I have two asterisk
servers with public IP's. My users (behind NAT) register on one server
(I'll call it server 1), and for some calls they are transfered over
to the other server (server 2), because that server has the E1's.
I want server 1 to be in the signaling path for billing reasons, but
handling the media stream is killing

How to log caller IP address in the CDR?
Hello
We had this situation:
Some bot-net did try to guess SIP logins and finally succeeded. The Asterisk
Server was abused to call a large number of expensive destinations.
It is clear that the sip logins have been passed to various persons (probably
posted on a forum somewhere inviting to do 'free calls').
Right after the affected password was changed, the message log shows which

OT: Question on Caller ID (Spoofing calls with Asterisk)
I got a call from an overseas call center telling me about the
problems with the Windows machine I was using. They wanted to remote
in and fix things for me ... (Ignore the fact I use a MacBook Pro or
an ASUS laptop with Debian).
What I found curious was the caller's name was Asterisk, and the
caller's number was Asterisk at 10 or or Astrk at 10 similar. (I don't
recall the exact

macvtap direct and ip spoofing
Hi there. I have configured kvm domain (rhel6.4) with ethernet bridged over
macvtap, and found no filtration applied except mac. 'virsh' just silently
ignoring attributes 'filterref' and 'ip address' in different formats. No
error on validate stage. Config examples:

Is there a way to prevent hwaddr/mac address spoofing between DomU''s?
So in a way ''binding'' a mac-address on boot time with a virtual
interface? (with something like ebtables/arptables/etc?)
