Configuring Patton SmartNode with ISDN2e and Asterisk
Hello Does anyone have any experience with configuring BT (British Telecom) ISDN2e lines to work with Patton SmartNodes - and then Asterisk? I have a Patton SmartNode 4638, which is now connected to 3 x ISDN2e lines - and in turn connected to our internal LAN. I'm having huge issues configuring the SmartNode to successfully "see" the ISDN channels - and to be honest, I'm

quadBRI and UK ISDN2e
Morning Asterikians, I've just got my nice shiny quadBRI card, and it seems to be working very well - except for one little issue - CallerID. The card is currently connected to an ISDN2e line in P2P mode, and an S0 adapter on our existing alcatel PBX. The S0 connection recieves callerID and displays it correctly - the 2e line doesn't, and BT have said that CLID was enabled on the

ISDN2e card
Can anybody recommend an ISDN2e card that is a reasonable price. Also, does anybody know if the AVM B1 V4 card has the echo problems, I believe I saw somebody mention they had echo problems on the V3 card. Patton ISDN 2e boxes as media converters...
As subject really - anyone using a Patton ISDN2e box purely as a SIP to ISDN2e bridge, rather than use it's router, etc. functions? Just looking at options for an existing client who has a VoIP only box who's moved to a location with somewhat challenging broadband connectivity... (This is in the UK) Cheers, Gordon

Advice on BT ISDN Services (UK)
Hi all, I've been playing about with Asterisk for years now on and off, just SIP to SIP calls, using FWD and suchlike. I'm moving house at the beginning of September and have decided to build an Asterisk based system for my home office. I'm in the UK and wonder if anyone can give me advice on lines and hardware to use. Had planned to go with an ISDN2e line coupled with a BT

Best External PRI Gateway?
I'm currently looking to interconnect my Asterisk PBX system with the PSTN via a digital PRI/T1. I know a multitude of options exist for internal PCI cards (Digium/Sangoma/Rhino), I was wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations of external PRI media gateways that support SIP. So far I've found: VegaStream Vega 400 Audiocodes Mediant 2000 MediaTrix 1531 However they are

I am going to try and use a passive AVM fritz BRI card for my * setup.. Here is the thing.. I need to order my BRI from BT.. The service that looks to be the one to use is what they call ISDN 2e becasue this has the option to setup hunt groups across multiple ISDN2e lines so I could add another line later to get 4 channels.. Advice on ISDN and Asterisk in the UK
Hello all What I'm looking for is some plain speaking advice on ISDN. Currently using 4 analog lines connecting via a four port TDM400P FXO card. We need to physically move our installations, and on requesting the analog lines be moved - our telco (BT) is suggesting we replace our analog lines with ISDN2. We would have 3 x ISDN2 connections, giving us six voice channels. They've

AVM C2 chan_capi-cm-0.6.3 Error on Dial
I'm getting a strange error on one of the two controllers on an AVM C2 card under chan_capi-cm-0.6.3. I have two ISDN controllers defined, both in the same group, both connections are UK ISDN2e Point to Point: On the third outbound call (both of the first two calls are handled by the second controller "ISDN2",) I get this error : chan_capi.c conf_error 0x2001 PLCI=0x301

Mediatrix voip gateway 1124 and 1204 in UK setting
Hello! We are located in the UK, and we are planning to replace our old pbx with an asterisk based pbx. For outgoing calls our present pbx is connected to three PSTN lines which all have the same number. Internally, the pbx caters for quite a few extensions, and each extension can make outbound phone calls. Only very rarely does our call volume exceed three simultaneous connections (inside to

Call Stealing
Hi All, I'd appreciate some help on how to implement "call stealing". That is, where you dial a code to redirect any call on the system to your handset. I'm getting rid of my BRI service and I'm trying to replace the functionality of my existing ISDN2e PBX (Cybergear Gold) with VOIP and Asterisk. On my ISDN PBX, the short-code *46 does this. For example, if I take a call on

sip_write warning when executing Pickup of CAPI
I'm trying to pick up a ringing SIP phone (203) across the office with exten => *9,1,Pickup(783743) where 783743 is the local part of the number that our ISDN works on. I tried all of these first: exten => *9,1,Pickup(203) exten => *9,1,Pickup(SIP/203) exten => *9,1,Pickup(203@internal) and got a "declined" message back from my phone (snom 300), so I then

chan_capi [0.4.0|-cm-0.5.4] and Asterisk 1.2.0-beta1 - early B3 not early enough sometimes
Hi, I've just installed Asterisk 1.2.0-beta1 for the first time and downloaded chan_capi and compiled it in and run it. (For comparison purposes, I've tried this with both chan_capi-0.4.0PRE1 and chan_capi-cm-0.5.4 and chan_capi-cm latest CVS). Whilst most things are fine, it seems that if I specify the 'b' parameter in the dial string before the number, sometimes the early

Atcom IP-4B ISDN IP PBX?
Hello For customers who need a small IP PBX to handle up to four ISDN lines (in France, so I guess that means EuroISDN) instead of a PC + Asterisk and an ISDN gateway box, has someone already played with the Atcom IP-4B? www.atcom.cn/IP-BRIM.html Any feedback appreciated.

I have been given a Patton SmartNode 4114 and asked to get it working as POPS gateway for our asterisk box. The 4114 has 4 FXO ports. It's got firmware 3.21 on it. pci cards VS patton
Hi all, I've been using telephone cards for 4-5 years and now I'm considering the Patton gateways. What are the pro and cons of Patton stuff compared to internal cards in a production system? Someone say external gateway are better because has no echo but have a longer delay when placing calls. Any suggestion appreciated. Thank you! Giorgio

Patton 5.3. How to get incoming calls ?
Hi, I'm trying to configure a 4638 to pass inbound and outbound to and from ISDN and SIP interfaces. I'm using web interface at the moment. Setup is: ISDN -- <BRI> -- Patton 4638 -- <SIP> Asterisk -- <SIP> -- <IP Phone> I can call from IP phone but can't receive any incoming call : I can't see any SIP message coming in when a call comes in. Previously,
