using Wifi smartphones as SIP clients
All,
has anyone any experience in using Wifi smartphones as SIP clients? Does
this work properly? What models/brands are optimal for this (in terms of
ease of use, battery life etc)?
Thx!!

formatting a result table (number of digits)
Hello,
Is there an easy way to format the output of a result table that R
generates from a regression? I like the table, but would like to
limit the number of decimal points in the entries if possible.
For instance I would like only 3 digits of precision for the Value,
Std.Error. (And if it would be easy to get rid of scientific notation,
that would be good to know too). So ideally keep the

Asterisk and XMPP (Jabber) : testing new application JabberReceive
Friends,
a new dialplan application is now available for testing :
http://svn.digium.com/view/asterisk/team/phsultan/jabberreceive/
The corresponding feature request is located here :
http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=12569
What can you do with it? Well, a direct usage of this application is
to make an easy to use GoogleTalk voice gateway out of Asterisk. Here
is an example (assuming the

Wifi + SIP + Asterisk
In my old office, for conference purpose , gotomeeting was used. also for
the lecture delivery, same gobomeeting was used, most the time , we need to
listen voice only. also, we use to share desktop screen.
But as far as I know SIP is the standard for video telephony. SIP can handle
video +Audio.
now, I am thinking that, I can give solution like selling a server which has
Asterisk over it. AFAIK,

QQ International - How to troubleshoot an app that wont run?
As I mentioned in the subject, I have installed the latest version of QQ International (beta 3), under wine in ubuntu lucid.
It installs without much trouble, however when I run the application, nothing happens.
How do I begin troubleshooting this application to see if I can make it work?
Or if anyone happens to know of an x64 linux qq client that actually works that would be great too :D

ancova help
I am trying to run an ancova and am having trouble setting it up properly.
I have nearly 10,000 measurements of fish length, girth and stage of sexual
development. I am suspicious that the stage of development is affecting the
length (as they get full of eggs they get more round and are more difficult
to measure and measure shorter).
My data looks somethign like this:

Asterisk Integration with Android device
Hi,
I created a extension in Asterisk, the extension has been configured in
Android softphone 3cx. When I tried to call from Andorid phone to some other
IP extension which is registered in Asterisk, I am not able to hear the
voice, when I check the asterisk log or wireshark there is only one way RTP
traffic, from Android I am connecting to Asterisk via 2G GSM network.
Any idea would be

Anti-CBQ Statements in Howto
I find the negative attitude toward CBQ to be distracting and
non-professional in the HOWTO. I''ve re-read it for the first time in
about a month and comments like "This can be configured in a variety of
ways, which I do not understand. Use HTB" do not encourage me about the
writer.
This is not a personal critique, as I can imagine this being said on a
personal website,

jags error message
Could anyone give me some clues as to the best way to debug this error message? I think it is from the passing of variables back to R from the jags function which does Bayesian fitting. The curious part for me is that the error messages seem random, yet the input data are always the same. Any suggestions most welcome.
Thanks

jingle/gtalk still very troubling
Hi!
I just tried to call a friend using jingle, but I got refused. Errorcode was
502, he tried to call me, heard it ringing once and then it stopped.
I used:
originate jingle/gtalk_account/friend at jabber.linuxlovers.at [application]
I'm registered to googletalk, but this should mean no harm, or should it.
Once I was able to receive a text-message from him, but couldn't

Possible to use Tinc with embedded SSL implementations like PolarSSL, YaSSL?
I've tried my best searching for whether this question has already been
posted to tinc listservs, so apologies if this is a repeat question.
Is it possible to use tinc with SSL implementations besides OpenSSL, e.g.
the PolarSSL or YaSSL/cyassl libraries used on embedded distros like
OpenWRT?
Thank you.

Hi.
That's my first post. it's driving me crazy.

I've cross compiled it well(it looks like).
the login against vpopmail works.
using mmap it cannot even select

Embedded samba 2.0.26 problems
I've built an embedded version of samba 3.0.26b.
I'm having a problem getting it started, though - it fails to start. A
bit of tracing and I *think* it's failing to find secrets.tdb.
strace is showing smbd dying after failing to find secrets.tdb - in the
wrong place. I think the script below should take care of that, but for
some reason it's looking for secrets\.tbd in the
