Hello all, This is my first post to this list that I have just discovered. I am using icecast2 with ices2 and really it is great. I am using it also with ezstream. Now I would like to use icecast with asterisk for the music on hold. I read all I found about this but without success. Is there anyway to use icecast and asterisk in the way that this works? Hello, I just can't seem to get the MusicOnHold function to work out ok. I' managed to get the MP3Player app to work out fine, but when I run the MusicOnHold all i get is siliece. I have an extension setup in my extensions.conf for hold music. ext. 600. If I pick up a phone (polycom soundpoint 300 sip) and dial extension 600 I hear the hold music playing. If I call another extension and pick it up and put the call on hold with the hold button on the phone I hear nothing at all. Hello, Using asterisk-1.2.1 I am trying to convert my music-on-hold files from .wav to alaw: % sox moh.wav -r 8000 -c 1 moh.al resample -ql The file sounds fine when listened with: % sox mox.al -t ossdsp /dev/dsp But when listened through asterisk with an alaw SIP phone the sound is clicky and too fast. Thanks to this thread, we got it working too... but have a question... Once this is setup... does it stream forever, or does the stream only start when someone goes on hold/into a queue/etc? If it streams forever, at 24k... it looks like over 7GB/month in bandwidth... so we're not going to want to do that if a) it streams constantly and b) my math is correct. Thanks, Doug >
